Taselak threw a way its army in a wasted looting party and an attack on Sandalak cityIn this two part attempted ambush, Taselak moved aproximatley half its force into Aldrelhia completley ignoring the takeover in Saenna and preceaded to loot for the next few days in an attempt to draw out the force in Sandalak cityHowever looting Aldrelhia, currently Ikalaks lowest income provider proved to be fruitless and when the force moved out of Aldrehia deaper into Ikalak they were cut down.  Eventually Taselak manouvered its troops back into Aldrelhia when the Ikalakian force posted in Sandalak moved to oppose them however at the same time the other half of Taselaks army moved on the city itself in a suprise attack.

This however is when details get sketchy, all that is known to be the true is that Taselak arrived at Sandalak city but no battle occured.  According to local peasents a massive storm is said to have appeared between the two forces making visability impossible.  Believeing a small outskirting village was actually Sandalak the Taselak army set up camp while mildly bemused Ikalakian nobles looked out through the walls wondering why the Taselakian army had not attacked.  This however is when disaster struck Ikalak.  A massive lightning bolt is said to of struck the duke of Sandalak, Moonglum down, coinciding with these events several Taslekian nobles were also hit and were said to be in serious condition.  Apparently several Taselakian nobles had managed to find several rare artifacts rumoured to contain powerfuls magiks.  Local peasents claim that some of these nobles attempted to lift the storm using these weapons however such magiks are unstable resulting in the unnatural thunderbolts.  When the storm finnaly lifted Taselak relised the city they had thought they were occuping was actually a minor outskirting village, realising there foley they moved on Sandalak city.  When they arrived however they were utterly slaughtered by the reinforced army of Ikalak that had returned from Aldrelhia.  They are currently fleeing for there very lives into the safety of Gwohadda.  During this time the remains of the Taselakian looting party still hiding in Adrelhia were mericlessly cut down by a small strike force from Saenna.  It remains to be seen how Taselak plans to fend of both Ikalak and Toren with a heavily depleted army.

Monsters and Undead now roam the South-East Island in hoards and small warbands.  How they got here is unclear although Belutaterra is the likely the original source.  Although some claim that this is the result of unholy magics gone wrong.  However the peasents are stil far more concerned with the ever increasing battles that result in looting rape and pillaging of lands by occuping forces.  One can not hope but wonder whether this means that the peasents are made of stronger stuff here or that this war is ever increasing in its brutality.

After yesterdays fraek fog and thunderstorm believed to be caused by magical weapons weilded by Taselak troops resulting in the death of the great hero of Ikalak - MoonglumMore unusual happenings have appearedToday every single noble found themselves unable to move to a different region, unable to fight there enemy or even to hunt them down.  The only thing that did suceed was a brutal takeover of Lestem from TorenPerhaps the gods themselves are angry at us? Is an island constantly at war to much for even themselves to control?  Only time will tell if these strange occurences will continueTaselak have blamed Ikalak for the goings on claiming that obviously Sandalak city was flooded with witches and warlocks csting spells esulting in there defeat. The simple truth is one can not hope to beat an army behind a moat with a palisade wall with only ONE siege engine.  Taselak should review there tactics when assaulting walls and perhaps relise that all these strange events could be related to there magical weapons they seek to use?  As far as this editor is aware Taselak are the only forces on the island currently weilding such weapons capable of casting dangerous magiks such as these.

An almighty battle took place on the 6th of February.  Jair led the Ikalak forces into battle against the well trained Taselak Hoard, with Taselak having just a minor advantage in strength while Ikalak had slightly greater numbersThe battle was incredibly fierce as the infantry and calvary of Taselak crashed into the Ikalakian Infantry wallAfter a fierce fight Taselak finnaly broke through the first wave of infantry however it was this that sealed there fate.  The Ikalakian heavy calvary which had been deployed at the back of the Ikalakian army, dug in and sheltered from enemy archers, suddenly charged with devastating effectThe Taselakian infantry buckled and Ikalak Infantry quickly broke through dispatching the second wave of infantry with ease before finnaly slaughtering the hapless archers at the back of Taselaks battleline. Taselak had little to comment about this, there paper was even more vagueThe Taselakian force was totally wiped out while the Ikalakian army  stayed in Cirranor relativly intact.

The Taselak tribune main statement over this battle was...

 +
"Dozens of nobles from both sides were wounded or captured"

 +
This was certianly true.  13 Ikalakian nobles were wounded and 2 were captured.  Taselak were less fortunate with 12 wounded and 13 captured.  Battles of this size always end with hundreds of lives lost.  The Ikalakian times expresses its regret for those who have lost there lives.

The political balance in the South-East Island has changed dramatically in the past month with death of two of the greatest heros of the first SEI war and the appointment of two new rulersZack the Great was elected priminister after Moonglum stepped down bringing with him new ideas and changes in the hierarchy of IkalakMischa was declared Queen of Taselak  after Penny was killed in the heat of battle.
+
Forget about Taselakian politicsForget about Toren politicsThe real action is in Ikalak where both Judge and Priminister posistions are likely to change.  Nobles have been launching massive campaigns in order to become the new Priminister or Judge respectivlyWe should get the results shortlyMore information will be delivered when we get it.  Goodluck to all those campaining.

The death of Moonglum duke of Sandalak - former Priminister of Ikalak; struck down by a freak lightning bolt has the realm currently in mourning wondering if there is a possible way he can return; and Penny - Queen of Taselak dieing in battle to a massive Toren army that outnumbered her own in strength 2-1This had led to Mischa taking the throne and Penny's sister Yanzi arriving on the Island challenging Phear - Pontifex of Toren to a duel to the death in honour of her sisters name.

Mischa Queen of Taselak was not elected for long however as Cronus was elected King of Taselak earlier this weekWe will give you more details on this when we are better informed.

The Ikalakian Times welcomes the Taselak Tribune to the list of official papers. Although there are technically 5 papers only the Ikalakian Times has covered this war...  Until now; with a new layout and at least 3 editors, Taselak has finnaly created its own paper - a paper that looks quite competetive but is already contradiciting itself.
+
Two heads are ussualy better then one.  This is the way of the world... with one acception it seemsOnly Taselak could run a paper where its many editors seem to plan condraticing statements.  Just who are they trying to fool?  Perhaps the illiterate peasents?  We will probally not get an answer to that from the tribune, it seems they dont like to answer questions that make them look silly.
 +

 +
In there current paper there most active editor Dennis went on and on about a possible allaince between Toren and Taselak running high in the Taselak council after Ikalak apparent no show.  they then went on to say Ikalak was using them.

''The editors are still confident that our proud realm will stand fast against the hordes of enemies, and we hope that many nobles will be able to join in the celebration of the finest and, above all most balanced paper to grace the South-East IslandWritten by: Jet on 30th October '06''
+
''Ikalak are using them.
Iniatially this looked like a fair comment to make as no great political biasism was in the paper, however it seems another editor has withdrawn that statement...
+

''This newspaper would also like to clear one thing up. We are TOTALLY biased towards Taselak and have no pretensions otherwise. For an unbiased read, please go elsewhere. Thank you. Written by: Dennis on 31th October '06''
+
The good news is that the powers that be in Toren by just be coming around to our point of view. In the high circles of Taselak, rumours are rife of a possible ceasefire between Toren and Taselak. If this should happen, it would bring about what we have hoped for for so long. An alliance between the underdogs against the big bad baddy, Ikalak(writtten by Dennis)''
 +

 +
Mischa former Queen of Taselak had a very different statement to make...
 +
''Amazingly Toren have been able to complete two simultaneous TOs. How did they manage this feat do you ask? Why Ikalak let them of course! How else would Toren be able to do it? They had Ikalak run interference to Taselak while they completed the TOs. (wriiten by Mischa)''
 +

 +
Both these statements are clearly contradiciting each other therefor the Ikalakian times can see only three possbilities...
 +
*Dennis the chief editor for the paper is lying and there for 90% of the paper in inaccurate.
 +
*Mischa is lying in which case the very council of Taselak is lying to its own people.
 +
*Both are lying in an attempt to gain a minor boost of morale before Toren overuns there regions while Ikalak harrases there armies.
 +

 +
So which is it Taselak....

Reguardless, i hope you continue to write your contradicting statements Jet and Dennis as well as your interesting if slightly fanciful articles about your view of this war.

The seemingly inevitable epic battle between Ikalak and Taselak has finally taken place. With the infantry engaged in fierce combat the Ikalakian calvary charged in and smashed the first wave of Ikalakian infantry, cutting down enemy calvary in there wake. Cronos the King of Taselak was captured in the confusion. From there on the meat grinder begun with wave of infantry fighting infantry however the damage was already done. Taselaks second line of infantry retreated or fled leaving Taselaks last line of elite archers finally open, with one last mighty charge, the infantry and calvary of Ikalak tore asunder the remaining Taselak forces securing the most important victory on the island so far.

With there king captured, there army laying in ruins and Toren marching down on them once more it is difficult to see how Taselak will manage to recover from this.

Epic battle in Cirranor
Date: February 11th, 2007

An almighty battle took place on the 6th of February. Jair led the Ikalak forces into battle against the well trained Taselak Hoard, with Taselak having just a minor advantage in strength while Ikalak had slightly greater numbers. The battle was incredibly fierce as the infantry and calvary of Taselak crashed into the Ikalakian Infantry wall. After a fierce fight Taselak finnaly broke through the first wave of infantry however it was this that sealed there fate. The Ikalakian heavy calvary which had been deployed at the back of the Ikalakian army, dug in and sheltered from enemy archers, suddenly charged with devastating effect. The Taselakian infantry buckled and Ikalak Infantry quickly broke through dispatching the second wave of infantry with ease before finnaly slaughtering the hapless archers at the back of Taselaks battleline. Taselak had little to comment about this, there paper was even more vague. The Taselakian force was totally wiped out while the Ikalakian army stayed in Cirranor relativly intact.

The Taselak tribune main statement over this battle was...

"Dozens of nobles from both sides were wounded or captured"

This was certianly true. 13 Ikalakian nobles were wounded and 2 were captured. Taselak were less fortunate with 12 wounded and 13 captured. Battles of this size always end with hundreds of lives lost. The Ikalakian times expresses its regret for those who have lost there lives.

Current politics
December 31st, 2006

Forget about Taselakian politics. Forget about Toren politics. The real action is in Ikalak where both Judge and Priminister posistions are likely to change. Nobles have been launching massive campaigns in order to become the new Priminister or Judge respectivly. We should get the results shortly. More information will be delivered when we get it. Goodluck to all those campaining.

Contradiciting statements?? AGAIN?
Date: December 7th, 2006

Two heads are ussualy better then one. This is the way of the world... with one acception it seems. Only Taselak could run a paper where its many editors seem to plan condraticing statements. Just who are they trying to fool? Perhaps the illiterate peasents? We will probally not get an answer to that from the tribune, it seems they dont like to answer questions that make them look silly.

In there current paper there most active editor Dennis went on and on about a possible allaince between Toren and Taselak running high in the Taselak council after Ikalak apparent no show. they then went on to say Ikalak was using them.

Ikalak are using them.

The good news is that the powers that be in Toren by just be coming around to our point of view. In the high circles of Taselak, rumours are rife of a possible ceasefire between Toren and Taselak. If this should happen, it would bring about what we have hoped for for so long. An alliance between the underdogs against the big bad baddy, Ikalak. (writtten by Dennis)

Mischa former Queen of Taselak had a very different statement to make... Amazingly Toren have been able to complete two simultaneous TOs. How did they manage this feat do you ask? Why Ikalak let them of course! How else would Toren be able to do it? They had Ikalak run interference to Taselak while they completed the TOs. (wriiten by Mischa)

Both these statements are clearly contradiciting each other therefor the Ikalakian times can see only three possbilities...

  • Dennis the chief editor for the paper is lying and there for 90% of the paper in inaccurate.
  • Mischa is lying in which case the very council of Taselak is lying to its own people.
  • Both are lying in an attempt to gain a minor boost of morale before Toren overuns there regions while Ikalak harrases there armies.

So which is it Taselak....
