Fortifications give a defensive bonuse to one side of a battle, and can be overcome and damaged by enemy siege equipment. As well, they can be damaged by enemy troops occupying a region using the raze fortifications command, or repaired by region lords and large enough units.
There are several levels of fortifications, each with progressively stronger defenses:
- Palisades
- Mote and Bailey
- Castle
- Stronghold
- Fortress
- Citadel (deprecated, and can no longer be built)
A fortification can be reduced in level through sufficient damage.
