Due to the accidental release of a horde of Shiverwood Squirrels in heat into the press room a few weeks ago we have not been able to bring you any new editions of the Asgard informer recently. But now that all of that mess has been sorted out let's have a quick recap of recent events in the north. Last week the armies of Norland launched a series of assaults against Mansbridge with the intent of weakening its defenses. All these assaults were repulsed by the Ithilian forces with heavy casualties including the death of the famous hero Baron birdy spiliz of Hernepool. A festival was thrown in honor of the great hero's ascension into Valhalla while Minas Ithil's army pursued the retreting Norland forces into Hernpoole and occupied Elost and looted the region, adding insult to injury. After a close contest for the next lord of Hernpoole Dany Ballentstein was announced by Duke Gimlack to be the new Baron of Hernepool today. Shortly after this announcement word spread across the continent of a battle between Norland's federated allies Barony of Makar and Minas Ithil ending in a minor Ithilian victory. When questioned about the attack Sordnaz Dagger, Dictator of the Barony responded that the it was the Barony's General Edgar, Baron of Jerkel that ordered the assault and that he had no ability to stop him. The Ithilians and their allies quickly cried foul at the entrance of the Barony into the one on one war despite frequent hints at war by Sordnaz after a priest of Magna Serpaenism was caught preaching in Norland, a violation of the same treaty that Minas Ithil now claims the Barony broke. Norland's officials have been quick to denounce the attack and ask for the withdrawal of Barony troops from the war in fear of being perceived as unhonorable for "violating" the treaty. However Norland's Thane Jarl R'guard Da Hadez,Baron of Shiverwood also announced that he will not allow this opportunity to be passed up and will continue fighting the Ithilians while attempting to convince the Barony's General to withdraw. At the same time Falasan is claiming that the barony's entrance into the war violates their treaty with Eston despite the fact that Eston did not in any way aid the Barony soldiers. Apparently Falasan has been preparing itself for war lately with the excuse that a raiding party was coming down from the Barony to attack them, yet another case of the dishonorable attempting to make themselves put as righteous even as they prepare to rip apart the treaties they so desperately hide behind.

The following statement is the personal opinion of the editor and does not reflect the official views of the government of Norland Although the entrance of the Barony into this war has caused a diplomatic mess this writer would like to gives his sincerest thanks to all of the Barony troops that sacrificed their lives defending Elost and looks forward to sharing a drink with them when this whole incident has been straightened up.
