Revision as of 22:41, 23 April 2007

  • Irombrozia has had three royal families in it's time of being. All those who have held the title of ruler, or been married to a ruler, are entitled to the title of "King" or "Queen" if they desire it, no matter whether they are currently a ruler or not. Those who are in any way legitimately related to royalty are entitled to the title of "Prince" or "Princess". The next in line of succession (i.e. firstborn child of the rulers/most direct heir of a royal family) shall have the title "Crown Prince" or "Crown Princess".
  • When selecting a successor for ruler, the person who has the most rank shall be selected. Rank shall be valued as follows:
Firstborn child of current ruler- 5
In the event of the firstborn's death, the eldest child- 4
Other child of current ruler- 2
Firstborn child of former ruler- 3
Other child of former ruler- 1
Lordship- 1
Dukeship- 2
Council Position- 3
Vizier- 1
Marshall- 1
Married into the royal family- 2
Child of someone married into the royal family, but child not recognized as member of royal family- 1/2
Illegitimate child of royal family member- 1/2
Firstborn, but illegitimate, child of current ruler- 2 1/2
Voted Favorite of Cabinet- 3
Voted Favorite of Assembly- 2
Voted Favorite of Questorship- 1
  • Sadly Necessary OOC notice- In a real monarchy in medieval times, there wasn't voting. it was hereditary. In Irombrozia, we try and duplicate that. In fact, we largely ignore the existence of the vote for the King, and select a candidate via methods of discussion or, in the future, the above table. Thus, it would be greatly, greatly appreciated if players with characters in Irombrozia would try and respect that RP, or come up with a very good and creative reason to circumvent it, and vote accordingly. And if this violates any inalienable rights, I'll delete it and we'll change how we do things accordingly.

Royal Families

  • Families which have held the position of King or Queen

Keithson Family

  • King Marc Keithson- First King of Irombrozia, ruled from July 15 to August 6 1006 when he was deposed by an assassin's blade. He ruled a second time from August 12 to December 19 1006. He ruled for 23 days in his first term, and 130 days in his second term. Thus, King Marc Keithson ruled for 153 days, the longest-ruling King in Irombrozian history thus far. He and his family are revered. Established Irombrozia as an absolute monarchy, led Irombrozia through the Honor War, negotiated first CCA treaties, obsession with chairs.
