Fortifications give a defensive bonuse to one side of a battle, and can be overcome and damaged by enemy Siege Equipment. As well, they can be damaged by enemy troops occupying a region using the Raze Fortifications command, or repaired by Region Lords with large enough Units.

There are several levels of fortifications, each with progressively stronger defenses:

  • Palisades
  • Mote and Bailey
  • Castle
  • Stronghold
  • Fortress
  • Citadel (deprecated, and can no longer be built)

A fortification can be reduced in level through sufficient damage.
