For many years Elijah's life was perfect and he and his sister grew up not knowing anything beyond the carefree life of most children. Then when Elijah was seven his hero Chault was killed in a battle in Hulaferd and suddenly a young boy found himself disillusioned and without a mentor. A few years later, at age of nine, Elijah was sent to be a squire for Wayslis, Baron of Frundi. A friendship grew between the two but always there was something distant about the young man, as if life around him was holding its breath, waiting for something to happen.
Forced by fate and the perceived scorn of some nobles in Wetham Elijah, like his father Innocent, wandered the lands of the colonies for many years in the bad lands between Wetham and Lukon before finally heeding the urge to find comfort in the family of the Assassins.
