Innocent commanding his army in battle

Like his brothers, Innocent set out to find his fortune and has not returned home in many years. When he first came to the Colonies he arrived in Oritolon. However, because his brother, Fenrisulf, had begun to rise to power in Alowca, the Oritolon nobles could not abide two brothers on opposite sides of a war and Innocent did not receive a very warm welcome.

Banned from Oritolon, Innocent fled east and found comfort in the region of Narrowdep for a time, the vastness of the desert there a comfort to him. But soon enough he was forced to flee as the Oritolon troops followed him. Initially Innocent had wanted to make his way the lands of Lukon and settle but word of his family association had reached the ears of Oritolon's allies before his arrival and he was forced to flee once more.

And so his path lead him to the Assassins. The guild welcomed him, accepted him and gave me home. Seeing his potential Innocent quickly rose to power within the guild Innocent and became the judge of the assassins. During the on going war with Wetham Innocent developed friends in many places across the island and he enjoyed his life, even the rivalry that developed with his enemies to the south. Innocent saw their war as little more then a place to let the younger nobles train and gain the honor and prestige they seeked.

Innocent has pledged his loyalty to the Assassins, his second family. It was this love for the guild that recently lead to Innocent calling a rebellion in the Assassins. The rebellion was successful and Innocent has become the Dictator of the guild with the hope of reshaping the political landscape of the island. Despite the continuing war with Wetham Innocent has sought to bring peace to their realms and despite the harsh rebuttals from Wetham he still had hope.

Innocent grew to be well respected by friends and foes alike, and out of this an unusual friendship emerged across the lines of battle. Once, a visitor in his dungeon, Innocent was captivated by the wit and beauty of Lady Kureshtal, Royal Treasurer of Wetham, and even after her release he came to enjoy the occasional picnic with her when they find themselves in Hulaferd or South Bakker together. Their friendship grew into something more and eventually Innocent knew his heart belonged to her.

Innocent learned that the days of a ruler are long and trying, but always, in his heart Innocent longed to be reunited with his love, Kurecalle. And so in mid July Innocent's heart lept for joy and the announcement spread throughout the lands that Kureshtal and Innocent were parents. Lady Kurecalle Dahlia Kestrel and Sir Elijah Tal Kestrel were born on the 9th of July, 2007.

Four days later a message arrived at Innocent's estate that carried a sorrowful message with it. His love, Kureshtal, spoke about an arrangement she had been offered that she could not turn down. One that offered a chance for safety and security for the twins. Puzzled by the mystery of her letter, and shocked by the request, Innocent could only reply, "As you wish" and trust there was a good reason.

Another week passed before Innocent's life was destroyed. A small, simple letter that arrived by messenger on the 25th of July. A envelope that bore the royal seal of Wetham held the killing blow. A card, wrapped in a delicate sheet of scarlet tissue paper, announced the wedding of Wolfgang and Kureshtal. It was not a sword, nor arrow. Not even a dagger in the darkness of a back alley that claimed the will and heart of this man. It was a letter. A small simple letter that had been hand pressed with rose petals accomplished what all of the resources of Wetham could not and brought Innocent to his knees.

Over the next several months a deep sadness came over Innocent and driven by the sorrow and emptiness inside he left. Stepping down he gathered a few belongings and made to leave. A couple of his closest friends were there when he left, saw him in the stables preparing for a journey to search for solitude, but before they could stop him Innocent was gone.

Almost a year passed before Innocent returned, not to take up the mantle he had laid aside, but rather Innocent had a new direction for his life and a new conviction in his heart. Where love for one woman had once ruled his heart was a new appreciation for all things. While away Innocent had spent time in quiet contemplation and came to embrace Shadowism and would begin to use the influence of the religion to bring understanding to those he met. But inside... inside there was a small fire that still burned for the past. Recently the whereabouts of Innocent's son, Elijah, have become a mystery and there is concern that his young life may have come to an untimely end. Whispers speak of foul play at the hands of his family or perhaps his grip on sanity loosened so much that he took his own life. Either way Innocent, has sworn to find the answers.
