Background

Guimoiun is the eldest son of the Zhuravlev family. After a brief time of service to the city of Suville, he left the realm to seek glory in Skalk due to its front line status in the conflict between Carelia and the Cagilan Empire. There he met Jovyl Filador, then the Duke of Skalk, and the two became fast friends. In service to Carelia, Guimoiun became the Count of Canock, and then turned his attention to his family's love of economics and began studying the art of trading.

When Canock was taken by the Cagilan Empire, Guimoiun lost his position, and became a wandering noble of Carelia. He spent a brief amount of time in the prisons of the Empire, before returning to Strombran to await his deserved title. Upon reinstatement, he worked long and hard to restore the land to its state of repair. The lack of allies began to hurt the economic opportunities available to Guimoiun, and so he turned his attention to diplomacy and politics. He wrote fairly regularly to Prime Minister Milan of the Cagilan Empire, attempting to understand the beginnings of the war between their nations.

Upon Carelia's loss in the conflict, he became the Viscount of Canock under the Cagilan Empire. He participated in the negotiations of Carelia's surrender.

Personality

Guimoiun fits fully within the the traditional ambitions of his family. He spends his time with books rather than the sword, and seeks to prove his worth through wit instead of strength. Guimoiun strives to make many close personal connections in order to advance his position. He always opts to solve problems with words over weapons, and takes great interest in the goings on in his realm with respect to politics and economics, but only pays lip service to military affairs.

Guimoiun revels in the day-to-day bureaucracy of things. When he is not traveling and trading, he prefers to be behind the desk in his manor. Guimoiun takes great pride in maintaining a clean desk with am empty surface, made of fine wood from the forests of Canock and polished to a shine with lacquer sent to him by his family in Suville.

Guimoiun is not above interacting with those of lesser birth in order to obtain the information he seeks. He has been known to contact passing travelers directly in order to hear the rumors circulating throughout the world, but is hindered in this by his obviously noble status. He has also been known to contact persons of ill repute for similar reasons, and when asked about the circumstances of these meetings will use his tongue to maneuver the trouble away from himself.

When not studying the ways of trading, Guimoiun occupies himself with music. He is an accomplished violinist and keyboard player, and brings a violin with him on his travels. Guimoiun is known to whistle while in the process of traveling, his tune's mood matching that of his.

Description

Years of neglecting physical training have left Guimoiun a portly fellow. He stands at 1.8m, and wears the utilitarian garb of one who travels much. Guimoiun keeps a full beard at all times, but its length will vary with the season, trimmed short in the heat and let wild in the cold. Guimoiun travels alone much of the time, preferring to avoid conflicts with the local militias. When on the road, he has been known to flash his gold to attract the attention of the local common women, with empty promises of marriage and the wealth associated with a landed trader. In the presence of more educated audience, he uses his musical ability to impress the noblewomen, with much the same result.
