Background
The Zhuravlev family traces its origins to the plains of Webgard, in Southern Atamara. For generations, they served as traders, moving caravans of food between the nearby plains and the city of Suville. The family places high value in the traditions of Southern Atamara, particularly by writing down and categorizing many of the folk songs passed down by the people through the years.
Recently, the Zhuravlev family came into significant wealth after expanding its focus on food movement to include wood and "apothecary goods." As such, they have begun to send out their younger members to attract fame to the family's name.
Coat of Arms
The Zhuravlev Coat of Arms depicts a gold "Z" on a field of green with a red wedge. A stack of coins, a pan flute, and a book are rendered in gold on the shield. The green represents the food long traded by the Zhuravlevs, the red stands for the strength of the family, and the gold shows their nobility. Coins and the book show the family's dedication to trading and studies, respectively. The pan flute is the most recent addition, and shows the labor of love undertaken in the musical library they have created. The flute replaced the original image; a cart which showed that the family could not have risen to prominence without the help of the caravans.
