October 8th

We fight daimons once again, for the first time since I was elected to the position of Chancellor. The nobility of mesh called for the execution of that daimon that we captured. Judge Arnulf executed the beast and then fled the island in the vain hope that it would spare us from what would come next.

If only we could be rid of the evil creatures once and for all. The daimons have changed though from the first we fought. They have settled in Beluaterra, as if this were their home. In the early days of their appearance I had more hope that we could vanquish them, push them back and seal the hellish portals they used to arrive here. Now they seem intend on being a permanent fixture in Beluaterra.

October 9th

We face two daimon lords, Avante and Predator. They have come from the south, killing and terrorizing the people of Qhunomite and Daelex. We make our stand here in Hoelorr, in an attempt to stop them before they reach their nest in Lanngetti.

October 10th

The fields of Hoelorr are filled with dead, both daimon and human. I estimate nearly 100 daimons dead as well as the Daimon Lord Predator, felled by my men's arrows. Avante and some of his daimons remain alive, we were forced to pull back before he could be slain.

October 11th

Avante is headed north, to Lanngetti. We must stop him before he reaches the nest if possible. The stories from the south fill me with dread of what may happen should he reach it and enact his revenge on us for the death of Predator.

October 12th

We were too late. We chased Avante all the way to Lanngetti but were unable to capture or kill him. Daimons have poured from the nest and there are now nearly 200 daimons there. With our army already decimated from the numerous fights, we must retreat. Avante's words remain on my mind, and I have written them down so that I shall not forget them: You Meshians are brave...you will prove useful...for that reason, and that reason alone, you will not be annihilated.
