Wish List/Drunkenness

From BattleMaster Wiki

Getting drunk is something that not only we the players enjoy (at least, I do :P ) but something that plenty of nobility would be doing anyway. Why not have it in-game?

Basically, I see it would work as: every character would have a hidden "drunkenness" stat. Normally it would be 0. It would go up from getting drunk: this could happen in the taverns as entertainment (along with the troops), at tourneyments from accepting drinks bought by others OR by buying drinks, or a kind of tavern-entertainment not involving troops morale.

A character with maxed drunkenness would not be able to drink more.

Maxed drunkenness would also lead to a "drunk" character status which would be most similar to a light wound - no loss of titles, but 1 or 2 turns spent incapacitated.

In between 0 and maxed drunkenness, there would be a random chance (which increases with drunkenness) of several random events happening:

  • Honor/prestige loss from public humiliation.
  • Any "order" given doing nothing except spending hours.
  • Loss of random amount of gold - perhaps you spent it on extra drinks, or got mugged/swindled, or bought yourself a whore and don't remember...
  • Swordfighting/Jousting/(etc) skill temporary boost (or penalty!)
  • Academy Training option closes to character for X turns (they kicked you out, you drunkard!)

Gameplay speaking, this would have a sort of lottery effect - minor boosts or penalties, no real control which happens. It would also give something added to the "buy drinks" tournament option and stimulate some roleplay
