Vix Tiramora

We are not Republicans but Democrats. Every Citizen has a say and a vote in everything. We reject the idea of putting power in the hands of Senators, for power corrupts. Obviously, the peasantry can't vote, that would be ludicrous. But they do have rights and we consider them Freemen, not possessions. So they can come and go as they please.

Philosophy

• i. Vix Tiramora's first responsibility is to protect it's Citizens. What is a Citizen? It is a Noble who has been freed from the Tyranny of the Feudal System. They serve one of the Two Great Houses (Ghrest, Rir Vuum) and, should they follow the path of the Warrior, the Army. But they do so freely, able to elect their Head of House and Government and able to stand as candidates themselves. Being free also means Freedom of Speech, all are able to say what they think and challenge those they disagree with, regardless of that Citizen's office. We value the benefits of debate and see that through constructive argument, optimum decisions can be made.

• ii. Vix Tiramora's second responsibility is to protect it's Democracy. All Citizens are able to vote in all elections and referendums and all votes carry an equal weight. Every Citizen is able to run for any position.

• iii. Vix Tiramora's third responsibility is to protect the freedom of East Continent's Independent Nations and challenge those that would force bondage upon it's people. Vix shall endeavor to increase the number of Free Citizens on this continent and dream of a time that all Nobles may be freed.

Citizenship

Citizens of Vix Tiramora are not tied to a liege-lord as they would be in a feudal monarchy. Rather, they offer their services freely to their Head of House in return for a place in Vix society and a share of their region's wealth. Citizens are free to leave Vix Tiramora whenever they wish.

It is very difficult indeed for a Freeman to be promoted in class to a Citizen. This is because a study of a Freeman's physiology shows they only consist of four humours: Blood, Phlegm, Black Bile & Yellow Bile. They lack the fifth humour of Cunning, which is present in all Citizens. Crucially, it is the Cunning that forms the majority of the Citizen's brain and is what enables a Citizen to master their baser instincts and behave in a Civilised, logical fashion.

However, through inter-class breeding, it is possible for a Freeman to contain some small amount of Cunning. Therefore, any Freeman who has shown particular guile or elegance may be nominated by a Citizen for the Citizenry test and if successful, their family may be elevated.
