Valgar turned to Seigmund his loyal captain.

"Looks like the good King wishes to learn something about my brother Seig.".

Seigmund threw the last of the fresh sword purchases onto the growing pile in the middle of the dimly lit stable. He let out a sigh and raised his eyebrows at Valgar's shadow in the corner, " Why not tell him the truth?...".

Valgar carefully folded the letter and placed it inside his armour, he stepped out oft he shadows and grinned at his fellow warrior, " Tell him the truth? The whole truth? That our family is a bunch of criminals and murderers who try to legitimise the whole affair by swearing our fealty as Knights?".

He shook his head sadly and walked over to the smashed window to regard the latest recruits, bought from a prison warden, they had been destined for death for a wide range of crimes. " No. The Reinharts have been trying to mobilise scumbags such as ourselves for many years. I have no time for dainty courts and pompous banquets. Our place is in the underworld of this city.".

Seigmund watched his leader gesture towards the dank vista of the cities less reputable sections.

"We will fight for coin, and for the name of the downtrodden. Its the way we've always done it, eh Seigmund? I will reply to his letter and tell him of how my brother is a typically virtuous Knight, and that his armour hath no rust on it!".

Seigmund let out a low bark of laughter and shrugged.
