Danzi & Edwin the Honourable

She had oft been a denizen of the night,

Finding her place in the darkness.

Much gold can be earned with daggers,

And this was work she loved.

She never knew that she would find love,

As she slipped softly through the nights.

But find it she did, though it was darkened,

Because he could not bear her daggers.

Though they might fight over those daggers,

Still between them was true love.

‘Til came a challenge rolling through the night,

And for their future, all was dark.

She chose to reach out of the darkness

And into his body plunge her dagger,

So that she might keep this man she loved

From facing death and eternal night.

But, alas her beloved cast her back into the dark.

Alone into night with her companionable daggers.
