Tinsley Family/RP/Dinner with Trevor
Dinner with Trevor (where Willem dines with another Region Lord)
After having receiving his scout's reports Willem went to the recruiting center in Barad Gardor. He knew what he would do, he just didn't have the funds for it yet. He spoke with some of the recruiters, trying to get any inside information on the raw recruits. It was the usual. The infantry units from Tucha were still the hardiest and most sought after.
He was bumped from behind and quickly turned around, his hand moving toward his sword. The man before him looked familiar, but he didn't recognize him at first.
- Baron Trevor, how good to finally meet you. Thanks for helping defend Amdor.
- Well, Marquis Willem, if you really wanted to thank me, you could take me for a meal.
Willem felt his coin purse. It was a little light. Taxes were to be distributed in the morning, but he had to be gracious.
- Fine, then. Wherever you want to go. I'd like to spend some time with you, discussing region maintenance, military tactics and the like.
- Okay, as long as you're buying, I'll talk about anything. How about we go to that, umh, I forgot the name of it. Food's good, but a little pricey. It is a quiet place, kind of classy. It isn't the kind of place where the tavern lasses throw themselves at you. Is that okay?
-Well, sure. Don't need that sort of temptation right now. If you can find the place, I'll buy. - Willem was relieved that he didn't have to spend the evening at a dive by the docks.
After a half an hour of searching, Trevor remembered that it was on the east side of the city, not the west. Willem wondered how it came to be that Trevor was appointed to the position of a region lord.
They dined and discussed, and dined some more. The food was rich and the drink good. Willem learned some about Trevor's style of region management, of how his unit became to be know as the Green Legs and of some tips to employ while at the academy.
They parted as friends, but Willem's purse was nearly empty. Next time Trevor could buy.
Willem walked to the inn where he was staying, ordered up some tea and settled in for the night.
