Things have become a bit quiter here in the Kalmar Islands. Much of positive things are put down for the time, until we are sure this uneasy ceasefire is secure. There have been rumors that Old Rancagua, or select Old Rancaguan nobles want to find nobles from other continents to come in and recolonize the islands. Rumors only so far. Baron Thanfedal of Stora made a failed attempt at building a Cavalry Center. Horses are not native to these islands, consequently attempts at cavalry have failed. Nobles' hopes were crushed, but we will get by.

Some Negative news

Kalmarian guards, have captured Frade an Old Rancagua infiltrator in Stora. We've gotten some insight into what Old Rancagua thinks of us as a result. Here are some of their messages.

"I believe we are still at a point in which we can work for peace between Sirion and Perdan if Perdan helps us against Kalmar. We only need Queen Clarissa and King Dekion to agree."

From this we can see Old Rancagua plans to solicit help from Perdan some peace with Sirion in exchange for aid against us. It seems they Old Rancagua think we with our 14000 CS are going to be a difficult target for them and their 23000. Old Ranc must not have much confidence in themselves.

Wenliang, High Marshal of Old Ranc and Marshal of Ashforth has said

"What are we asking here though? Kalmar as it is currently is not what it once was. This new democracy is one which is solely dominated by the Avamarian/Oligarchian subset of society. They have taken from those who it rightfully belongs to. I would rather a realm of only Rats, Prometheus, Legatus and Palandro than what it is now, for at least they would deserve to be there.

Is it so dishonourable to continue a war with them to restore the monarchy? Yes lives will be lost, but there will not be any looting, there will not be any damage to the bulk of the Kalmarian infrastructure and what is destroyed can be rebuilt, such is the way of things. Furthermore, if we move quickly and strike at the core, in Kalmar City, Stora and Alvaret, that is 4500 people saved from war already. Over half the population.",

We've already gone through this already. The former Avamarians in Kalmar Islands have don enothing but good(except the few that were involved in the revolt of course). The majority of the former Avamarians have done no harm, and some have donated to improving the land. Numerous monetary donations from Avamarians haev bought Kalmar and Chaos Temple strong walls, an academy, smiths, RCs etc.

I would say that it is dishonorable to fight a war against those who have done no wrong. A war which would without a doubt take the lives of Kalmarians and Old Rancaguans, but it seems Master Wenliang disagrees.

Former Kalmarian King Ebion II Junior has said

"You offerd us Kalmarites finacial and millitary suport under a "MIGHT give you" pledge!"

He has also said

"What about US the real KI people, who have been hurt banned and are double crossed by FUINUR and PROMETHEUS - he never made an F------ effort to defend US or avenge the harm done to US, but goes on about if we hurt his F------ people he will cut our BALLS off - so he broke his word, nay VOW to us as our old king!"

From this we see the first King doesn't even know the proper term for the people he ruled. Its Kalmarian, not Kalmarite. It's no wonder he lost the first election to Prometheus.

We can also see how Ebion has now qualm with using obscenities, an dhe actually beleiv ePrometheus is betraying him. I would say its the other way round.

Former Kalmarian Rats has said

"As far as I'm concerned, Prometheus is a criminal."

From that we can see that Rats can no longer be considered a loyalist for he is no longer loyal to his King, now Chancellor.

Former Kalmarian Palandro says the same

"Promethus, and the black hand that guides him, need to be destroyed. i can't stand OR's inaction any longer."

Wasn't it these same people who criticized the rebels of the first rebellion? Wasnt it a bad thing when long time Kalmarians like Asmodeus rebelled agaisnt their king? I suppose not, since now all three former Kalmarians in Old Rancagua (Ebion II Junior, Palandro, and Rats) are against the man.

Old Rancaguan Johnny has said

"We would go to war because Kalmar is a dangerous entity."(Not because of Ebion's resentment of Prometheus after losing the election.)

And yet, Old Rancagua is approximately 9000CS stronger than us? And Old Rancagua has Sirion, the powerful nation that has sworn to help defend Old ranc should we attempt to invade their lands. Haha... right as if we could invade them. We in Kalmar Islands does not threaten Old Rancagua at all. ---

So from this knowledge we can affirm: -Old Rancagua has little confidence in their military ability. -The three former Kalmarians who have CHOSEN to stay in Old Ranc afte rtheir bans were removed are no less rebels than the three Kalmarians who fought against King Prometheus earlier. -Ebion II Junior resents Prometheus for that first election, and doesnt know th eproper term for person of Kalmar. -Prometheus' attempts to keep peace have only resulted in mudslinging against him. -KI ought to affirm Perdan will not become involved in any conflict should it arise. -The OR nobles who want war("Hawks") care mroe about the Avamarians beign dead than the Kalmarians being alive.

Some Positive News

With the Old Rancaguan invasion over and the return of peace, a calm has fallen over the Kalmar Islands. Three bits of news none relating to foreign relations with Old Rancagua!

Ubent is holding a tournment. And while pletny of other newspapers have been arguing over math If 100 nobles enter the tournament each paying 20 gold then thats 2000gold made from entrance fees. 1000 of that gold will be used to pay the winners of the tournament. Part of the cost will be used to pay for setting up the tournament itself. After that Ubentians ought to have made some profit, though it probably wont be 1000gold or 2000 as some have speculated... then changed... and reappraised. To keep this all simple, the tournament should profit Ubent and be enjoyed by those who attend.

Second, Kalmar Islands is holding a tournament of tis own. Not like Ubent's but a sort of domestic tournament. The details are still sketchy, but the nobles are two be split into four groups. Each group will be assigned two regions. When they are all prospering with high morale and loyalty, the group assigned the regions will go to other regions and there will be a series of duels. The contest will be large one realm wide should the idea be put into action.

Third, the idea for a new banner is finally becoming a reality. Numerous designs have been put forth, but there are lots of conflicting ideas about what is good for a banner. Some possible ideas can be viewed [1].

So after all the negativity, rebuttals of the OR Press, talk of war it looks like we have finally gone past that into a new era of prosperity.
