Another war

Perdan having solved the problems with its neighbors suddenly remembered the former "glory" of its colony. So, fearing a defeat like Old Rancaguan's in the Islands, accepted some help from Itornut and declared war on the Islands invading Venas. So now the war on the Islands has turned to a five big realms Vs two tiny ones, 1 million population against 3000, 250k CS against 25k CS, few thousand golds income Vs barely a handful. It is petty to see how low the whole continent can fall. Especially if you consider King Dekion's words about a "noble" war, worthless words that had been said when Old Rancagua was thinking that winning was an easy task. Long before asking the support of Sirion and Fontan, and even before Doc dicate to Perdan their intermediation.

Infiltrators

Perdanese infiltrators attacks indiscriminatevely nobles, council members, population and even priests that peacefully preaches in Bastad, still Kalmarian soil. There are rumours about possible executions in case that such cowardish behaviour is to be continued.

A beneficial offer

Donna Ragna, Chancellor of Kalmar Islands has made a very beneficial offer to Perdan:

So I have an offer for you. I'm going to make your life a little easier. For 1000 gold, I can give it to you. And then your mighty army can go back home, have an ale or two, and think things over again. Maybe plan your next succesful assault against Lundel and Bastad, for which we can start negotiating prices! As a first offer, i propose the amazingly low price of 500 gold for Lundel. For Bastad, i am going to be a bit more tough. It will be 1500 gold, concidering it's next to our capital.

If you think that our prices are high, just concider this. How much gold does your (allmighty) army requires for maintenance cost? Payments? Entertainment (hence the morale loss)? And all that for just Venas. Could you imagine the cost for your (forever strong) realm if you have your eye on Lundel and Bastad?

It is crytsal clear that this offer is very beneficial for Perdan who has already paid more for Venas and it still pays loads of gold to maintain a huge army to take over Lundel and Bastad. Election Results

Donna Ragna was captured while travelling to Venas in order to "settle some family mattters" as she announced. To the elections that followed General Kamenos was elected by an overwhelming majority as the new Chancellor. It seems that the citizens of Kalmar remain united in these difficult times.

Low Population Record

The population of the Democracy has brake any previous records. The negative way. Because of the constant war the total poulation has fall to 689 pesants, well below the number of the Perdanese and Itornutian soldiers that invaded the Islands. It is really questionable what Perdan expects to gain from this war, apart from obeying what Doc has asked in The Elven Tribune/Issue 13 and hoping for a future favor by Sirion. Maybe this is way to pay back Sirion that didn't completely destroyed Perdan.

Take Over Averted

The "Liberating" attempt of the Perdanites failed completely as the surpressed people of Lundel freed themselves from the Brutal Take over. More specifically the reports are talking about "People fleeing from Lundel. They are spreading horror tales of the terror and brutality with which an enemy army is taking control of their homeland." However, with their love for freedom and independence from any foreign powers that are trying to take control of their homeland, the people of Lundel, have liberated themselves and averted the takeover attempt of their region. Lundel is now back under our full control.

Looting Bastad

Reports are talking about looting of villages in Bastad by Perdan's so-called "nobles". It is not to wonder why the locals resist so long to the overwhelming forces of the brutal invaders.

Killing Spree

Priests of Gymnistism are assasinated daily as the attacking forces of Perdan are trying desperately to control even the religious freedom of the peasants. As everybody has realized by now the true intentions of Perdan, the freedom-loving Kalmarians are taking every single hour impoverished weapons in a desperate fight against the evil assasins. Any kind of freedom will collapse once the Islands have fallen. Thus the locals prefer to die protecting those they love, to resist in any possible way and even die instead of turned into slaves. A life into slavery and complete misery is not appealing. And as a Kalmarian said "I prefer to live one hour as a free man, than humdred years as a slave". He then took his iron hammer and joined the partisans at the mountains of Lundel.

Elections

Despite the unfair war and the mass murder that is commited in the Islands, 90% of the Kalmarian Nobles reconfirmed Lady Donna Ragna as their Chancellor. Perdanite simple minds, would expect a differnt turn of events and maybe even a rebellion like the one that took place in Avamar Selective few days ago by Old Rancaguan agents. However the brutality of their taking over forces and the lack of any terms of suurrender have united all nobles of the Democracy around their charismatic ruler. It is a fight to death and all citizens know that.

Perdan in a difficult position

After more than 2 weeks of war, Perdan and Itorunt have made only little progress. Despite the murders, the detruction of infrastructure and the brutality of their vast army, the assasinations of priests, the restrictions on religious freedom, the burning of villages and the cruelty shown to civilians, only Venas is under their occupation. Still the citizens there are doing whatever possible to get rid of the invaders, casuing unrest, striking and refusing to take orders from the occupaying forces.

Outstanding Military Victory of the Unholy Alliance (Perdan, Sirion, Fontan, Itorunt and OR)

Every noble in the Continent follow Perdan's military breath-taking campaign! Tonight, "With outstanding brutality, Perdan has taken control of Bastad, killing our loyal civil leaders there and slaughtering any who opposed them. Bastad is no longer part of our realm." So after 5 full days, 58 Cavalry, 413 Infantry and 48 Archers managed to "liberate" the 307 remaining peasants of Bastad. Sirion congratulated Perdan for this outstanding victory as this will greatly help their effort at the Eastern Island. But things are stll not so bright at the other war front, where the friends of Perdan (Sirion, Fontan and OR) have amazing difficulties to conquer Stora. You see the Fontanese 15 Infantry and 100 Archers the Old Rancaguan 38 Cavalry, 657 Infantry and 196 Archers and the Sirionite 50 Archers, 119 Infantry and 32 Cavalry are engaged in...large battles with the 28 peasants that still live there despite the constant marauding and pillaging of their region. It is believed though, that the brilliant military minds of the Unholly alliance of the 5 realms, will find shortly an unswer to this strategical deadend and erradicate the powerful guerilla fighters of Venas. Besides there is always the option to ask for some support from the 300 Sirionite and Fontanese Soldiers that are stationed in Kalmar City.

The Unholy Alliance takes control of Lundel

The military geniouses of Perdan, after six days of outstanding brutality managed to take control of Lundel. Perdan has proved to the whole continent its magnificent war skills. After only 3 weeks of Total War has been expanded amazingly lot. Now the population of the realm is not 220,000 but 220,500. A great achievement that will be remembered. Additionally few hudred peasants have been liberated from their lives. All the Continent follows the developments of this great campaign in awe.
