Monthly Elections: No New Faces

East Continent on 2005.11.01

Possibly due to the Titan Incident last month, the nobles of Fontan decided to use their ballots to show their support towards the Council, and all Council members were re-elected with a high percentage gain of valid votes this month. Chancellor zedd again won the election with 43.8% of valid votes, while his competitor Sualk only got 25%. Lycastus, retaking the position after Lord of Blood stepping down, received 66.7% of votes in the General campaign. Lady Judge Amanda and Banker Gregor also received 41.5% and 65.6% of total votes respectively, successfully retaining their jobs. The Fontanese Digest would like to congratulate all the council members, and is looking forward to their leadership in this upcoming month.

New Territory: Fontan Flag over Greatbridge

After few days of resistance, local government of Greatbridge finally announced on 4th evening that the region is no longer under the tyranny of Oligarch but a member of Fontan from the moment on. With the annexation of Greatbridge, Fontan has proved its marrow in a forceful manner, procuring its part of the Border Treaty with Sirion and Old Rancagua, and gaining itself the final steppingstone to Oligarch City. The integrity of the regime's capital was already threatened by food problems, and from now on it is likely they will have to count in military problems as well.

Getting Serious: Yssaria Capital Moved

News arrived 13th night that Yssaria, now one of Fontan's formal alliances after Ubent has finally revealed its true face, has just moved its capital from Isadril to Hamadan. Yssaria has experienced a few military hindrances after the appointment of Caligus' new High Marshal, Eagles Reach, on early October. The capital move will greatly shorten Yssaria's supply line, and fortify its frontline area as well, though will also probably cause some civil unrest throughout the realm, especially inside its former capital. The bold move marks yet another historical point in the war between Caligus and Yssaria, and hopefully things will start looking better again for our ally down south.

Battle in Greatbridge: A Puppet Show

Ubent and its puppeteer Oligarch invaded Fontan borderland again, this time the newly conquered Greatbridge. Without any surprises Fontanese troops demonstrated their determinations in defending the homeland once again, and the invaders were overwhelmed by the sheer forces before their eyes. General Lycastus highly praised the performance and efficiency of the military in this battle. "I'm very pleased with the way the people of Fontan have handled themselves, having to fight several armies at once is never an easy thing," Lycastus commented. "However I have great confidence in the people of Fontan, and once again they came through on the day, it's an honor to command such a fine army." Chancellor zedd has expressed his formal protest against recent impudent behaviors of the Ubent side, demanding a satisfying answer must be given by the Prime Minister of Ubent, Zog Returns, or a formal war declaration will become inevitable.

UPDATE: After two days the ultimatum was sent out, Chancellor zedd declared Fontan is now in a formal warring state with the realm of Ubent as a result of Ubent's zero response to the warning.
