Interview with Distorted

Why did you choose to secede for Luz de Bia?

I chose to secede for various reasons. To help defend the neglected peasants of the south, to bring justice to the evil Luz de Bians and their imperialist ways, and to revive the old faith.

What diplomatic ties do you hope to form? Is Alluran a possible ally of Fronen?

I hope to form peaceful relations with my neighbors, including Luz de Bia if they will correct their ways. I have offered Fronen a peace treaty, but I believe your government has decided it best to wait until the end of the war before making any hasty decisions; a judgment I can respect.

How do would you rate the progress that has been made in forming the new kingdom?

So far decent progress has been made. On the first day a second noble has chosen to immigrate from another continent, and shortly after became the first judge of the kingdom through election. While I have not had much of a chance to get to know him, I welcome the idea of a potentially honorable judge with no strings attaching him to any particular nobles; it only helps to insure that our initial judicial system will have minimal bias and allows for the possibility of additional opinions to weigh into governance of the new kingdom.

More nobles are en route to join, and peace has been made with Irombrozia. Support has been offered by realms we are hoping to develop better relationships with, and who are also at war with common enemies; both are good signs that we can at least expect not to receive any hostilities from them for the time being. Lastly, a marketplace has already been built to encourage trade, as the kingdom will need a large amount of imported food. An army has also been established, which I will lead personally until a capable commander presents himself. With a good tax coming up, much more infrastructure is planned, including the workshops needed for caravans; trade has already been offered by ROF, Riombara, and Irombrozia.

Is a particular religion associated with Alluran or will it be a secular state?

Alluran is indeed associated with a religion. The realm is in fact named for the god in which I follow, Alluran. I was once the leader of the Order of Alluran, one of the sects belonging to the faith known as the Trinity which originates in Alowca, the Colonies. Through a series of events, the devotion to my god was made nearly illegal, with dedication going to the goddess Denariel. Alluran is the god of judgment, while Denariel the goddess of war. While I am not afraid to pick up a sword, I prefer peace so long as it is with the just.

Do you think Alluran is a kingdom to last? Do you think it will grow, shrink, or remain the same size as it is?

I am not but a mere man, and thus I could not tell you the future of the kingdom's size or existence. In our current state, I do not see the kingdom falling soon, as we received a fair amount of militia during the secession. Unless foreign realms who have not declared war yet march south, which is a possibility, I see us staying. Those that do not like me personally, may or may not take it out on my people, but more importantly, they are engaged in other wars themselves. I do not see it as necessary for the Kingdom of Alluran to expand as long as it can feed its people through trade. If territory is gained in war with Luz de Bia, I would not view it as a horrible annexation, but I have no intent to seek vast tracts of land.

Thank you for your time Distorted.
