The Grand Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Irombro
  • Size: 6
  • Description: 250 feet long, 250 tall, 250 feet wide. A granite stepped pyramid with Obsidian interior walls. The central foyer is an open 100 foot wide, 100 foot long room that slopes to a 6x6 square hole at the top. The light through this shaft falls on the altar, a large drum 8 feet tall and 10x10 feet circle. Each room in the temple has a single shaft carved through the rock, providing light during the day. There are no torches or lights in the Temple. In an addition, a 25x25x110 tower was added at each corner of the Grand Temple, and a low wall was put between them. Since the construction of the New Grand Temple, this, the Old Grand Temple, has become more of a symbolic and historical landmark. Also, a large dormitory has been built, where any passing traveller may stay, and have a few meals. It can house up to 300 people, and low-ranking priests frequent there often cleaning and providing food and clothing for the travellers.
    • Beside the Grand Temple sits a large building. It's main purpose now is to hold paperwork and various other records for safekeeping; when Qyrvaggism first came to Riombara, this building was used as a gathering hall for southern nobles in Riombara. However, once enough support was established, (and enough gold was donated) the Grand Temple if Qyrvaggism was built and thus supplanted this building.

This temple is so named because it was the first temple built after the discovery of the Amekanun.

The Protected Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Rii
  • Size: 1
  • Description: Constructed by Baron Renan Falcore out of respect for Amekal and at his request. It is a small temple where the people of Rii can pray without having to travel all the way to Irombro. It is a single floor temple which is 20 x 50 feet. Temple walls and roof and made of strong wood but the foundation is a strong granite which Renan favored. One needs a good foundation to serve Qyrvagg. A full time priest is staff which is rotated out every 6 months from the temple in Irombro.

The Bowshot Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Ieara
  • Size: 1
  • Description: Originally, a small building, just 20 feet wide by 30 feet long, that had but one worshipping room with a raised platform for a priest. However, after a couple costly upgrades, it's nearly quadrupled it's original size, and serves as not only a place of warship, but also trains future priests. It is named the Bowshot temple, because of its long distance from any other temple, far away in Fronen. But times have changed and, due to economic hardships, it has been shrunk again to it's original size. It is barely hanging on, but does form an occasional hermitage and missionary site for itinerant priests.

The Wind Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Heen
  • Size: 3
  • Description: Situated on the windy western shores, where the hot sand of the desert comes down to meet the sea breeze, this temple has long been a part of Qyrvaggism. Its smooth lines and terraced complex stem from the native architecture of the Heenites. However, it had fallen into disrepair and was largely empty, but has recently been expanded due to the attentions of the Church's renewed missionary efforts.

The Bloodwave Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Mio Dupaki
  • Size: 2
  • Description: A small temple on Riombara's western border, this temple is often a command post in Riombara's defenses in Mio Dupaki against Enweilian forces, and so has seen more than its fair share of bloodshed and death. It is a traditional stepped pyramid with a platform on top and substantial natural light. It has slightly thicker walls, a larger armory, and an extra stockade around it, however.

Closed Temples

The Shadowed Temple of Qyrvagg

The New Grand Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Bolkenia
  • Size: 5 at it's height, Destroyed just a small shrine remails
  • Description: 250 feet long, 250 tall, 250 feet wide. A granite stepped pyramid with Obsidian interior walls. The central foyer is an open 90 foot wide, 90 foot long room that slopes to a 6x6 square hole at the top. The light through this shaft falls on the altar, a large drum 10 feet tall and 12x12 feet circle. Each room in the temple has a single shaft carved through the rock, providing light during the day. There are no torches or lights in the Temple. This temple is still small, and under construction. Running up each corner of the temple is a narrow staircase. One for the Prophet, one for the Master of the Holy Hosts, one for the Grand Priest, and one for the Treasurer. At each corner of the Temple tehre is a 30x30x100 tower, and a 20 foot high wall between each. The paved path of obsidian leading to the main arched doorway of the main temple building is lined on each sides with statues of warriors and heroes of days gone by. At all times during the day, great fires burn atop each tower. The flag of Riombara flies outside the outer gate, which is inlaid with rubies. Outer complexes have also been built, including a large archive of documents and records, 2 priests dormitories for minor priests and scribes, and a seperate treasury complex has been built beneath the New Grand Temple. Unfortunately, during the war between the Kingdom of Alluran and Irombrozia, Alluranian fanatics began a religious crusade against Qyrvaggism and burnt the temple in Bolkenia to the ground. Not long afterward, the Molant family organized and funded the reconstruction of the temple, until it was destroyed again by the Kingdom of Alluran.

The Wrathful Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Cagamir
  • Size: 2
  • Description: A truely unique temple dedicated to righteous wrath and vengeance, this temple is also one of the most beautiful. Shaped like an ocean wave as it is cresting, due to the fact that Cagamir is very much a peninsula, the temple is 25 feet tall, 35 feet wide, and 112 feet long. Made of white stone painted blue, the foam which would normally be white is painted orange, creating a color scheme unknown anywhere else in the area dominated by Qyrvaggism and Qyrvaggian culture. The temple became somewhat abandoned and leaderless when its builder, benefactor, protector, and leader, Elaine, mysteriously left the Church. It became sadened, though the temple, and the people of Cagamir, remembered the purpose of the temple, its dedication, and its builder, Elaine: wrath and rage was its icon, so at odds with its graceful build. So paradoxical, yet so beautiful. This temple was destroyed by the undead, then the land was conquered by the Kingdom of Alluran.

The Far Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Cjelorg

The murals depict scenes of past battles, and figures and events from the history of the Church of Qyrvagg. Above all, they show the works of priests and prophets working, under guidance of Qyrvagg through the Amekanun, in the world. Unfortunately, in an incident caused primarily by misunderstanding the temple in Cjelorg was destroyed by Eretzists.

The Warhammer Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Pahk
  • Size: Was Size 3 now destroyed.
  • Description: A complex shaped like a warhammer, this temple is so named due to the fiery devotion, the blatant faith in, and the conflict-loving(thus good) nature of its prime benefactors: Arch Priest Haroldin, and Missionary Primus Renal. It is 200 feet long, and 20 feet wide at the top. The top is in fact metal walls, iron, while the haft is made of stone. The whole thing stands one story, 10 feet, tall.

It is of black stone, but, mounted at the apex of the dome, is a 30 foot tall silver spike, with a great 8x8 orange shield on it. This temple is the first to be built and led by a Champion, thus focuses largely on the warlike aspects of Qyrvaggism, and upon Sartan.

The New Battle Temple of Qyrvagg

There are several small residential quarters nearby, but the temple remains relatively small and unobtrusive.

The Capitolinas Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Athol Margos
  • Size: 5
  • Description: 100 feet long, 250 feet tall, 100 feet wide, this temple has a steep slope, rising sharply into the sky. Atop it is a great golden dome, that can be seen across the city, brightly reflecting the sun's light. At night, the priests light great fires beneath it, and the reflecting light illuminates the entire courtyard area around the temple. The temple is named the Capitolinas Temple because it is in the capitol of Riombara, the current primary host nation of the Church. This temple was mostly destroyed by the daimons, and almost became the site of a Cult Site for the Blood Cult, but intervention by Riombara prevented this, if only just.

The Frontline Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Melegra
  • Size: (1) Now Closed 2 shrines remain
  • Description: Built soon after the Republic of Fwuvoghor conquered Melegra, it was constructed while fighting was occuring just a few miles south in Ajitmon. It is a single spiraled tower, 20 feet wide, and three stories tall. It was built not long after the temple in Ketampkin was built in a period when the Church was suffering economic problems, and losing believers.

The Blade and Shield Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Avengmil
  • Size: 2
  • Description: 120 feet diameter, 80 feet tall, this building is a perfect circle and dome, like a totally black marble hill jutting out of the ground. Nearly invisible shafts let light into the interior corridors and rooms, where weapons of every kind are kept, and much of the Church's treasury and documents are kept. This is one of the major administration centers of the Church, and is the headquearters of the current Master of the Holy Hosts, and was also serving as a headquarters for the Prophet as well. Unfortunately, in recent days, the region has seen the founding of the religion known as Yggdrasili, and the leader of that religion is the region lord, thus making preaching rather difficult. Thus, the temple in Avengmil is now largely empty, and it's contents have been moved. This temple was destroyed by daimons.

The Safehouse Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Ajitmon
  • Size: 1
  • Description: 200 feet long, 40 feet tall, and 100 feet wide, this temple is quite distinct. It is obsidian with iron and gold plating on it, as well as a marble arced wall surrounding the complex. This Temple is designed as a fortress, to be held as a last stronghold, deep in the heart of Riombara. It is lit by torchlight, for much of it is underground. Much of the treasury and important documents of the Church of Qyrvagg is kept here, or in the complexes at the New Grand Temple. This temple put of a strong resistance for some time, but was eventually overrun by hordes of daimons, and by the fires of war between Riombara and enemies coming through Fwuvoghor.

The Mission Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Watto
  • Size: (1) Now Closed
  • Description: Constructed by Missionary Primus Ilandra, it became her primary headquarters in Heen after she was given the lordship of Watto as a thanks for Qyrvaggism's efforts against Vice and Varyamo Nolvo. Soon, temple was constructed to look like a dune, and painted a sandy color, though there is constantly a fire burning on top of it. It stands only one story tall, though it's entrance is 5 feet tall, and it's highest point is 20 feet tall, and has only one room inside it's sloping roof. It is designed to pay homage to the native desert culture.

The Scimitar Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Tahgalez
  • Size: (1) Now Closed
  • Description: Constructed by Duke Kagurati in order to thank Qyrvaggism for it's efforts, as well as to create religious and cultural diversity in the city of Tahgalez, the Scimitar Temple is situated right at the base of Tahgalez's main spire. It is in the shape of a curving blade, curving around the tower. It is only one floor, 10 feet tall, and has only a thatched roof along it's 100 foot length. Yet it is the hope that it's prime location will draw many nobles and peasants alike, helping to convert them.

The Dagger Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Worvobaen
  • Size: (1) Now Closed
  • Description: A small holy site in Worvobaen constructed by a faithful church member, it unfortunately did not receive sufficient missionary attention, and so fell into disrepair.

The Watchful Temple of Qyrvagg

  • Where: Fwuvoghor
  • Size: (5 at it's height, now closed) Now Converted into a Hospital
  • Description: 250 feet long, 200 tall, 250 feet wide. A granite stepped pyramid with Obsidian interior walls. The central foyer is an open 90 foot wide, 90 foot long room that slopes to a 12x12 square hole at the top. Atop the temple is an octagonal watchtower, with a 6x6 hole in its top. The light through this shaft falls on the altar, a large drum 8 feet tall and 9x9 feet circle. Each room in the temple has a single shaft carved through the rock, providing light during the day. There are no torches or lights in the Temple. In an addition, a 30x30x100 circular tower was added at each corner of the Grand Temple, and a wall was put between them. The Watchful Temple is named such because of its situation, on the Riombara/Avalon border, a place of watchfullness and guard. Also because it was built in the time when there was no Prophet, and the Church watched and waited for a sign from Qyrvagg. Also, behind the temple, a watchtower 80x80x360 feet has been built, which can see for vast distances all around. This temple was razed by Eretzists from Enweil.
