Roleplay from Mastraacht Abjur
(Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow)

A black pennant with a white crescent flew under a banner with the golden sun of Sol, announcing to those who knew the heraldry of the East that the heavily robed and hooded noble with the bear pelt cloak cantering onto the Field of Honor must be the newly minted Duke, Mastraacht Abjur of the Vorstadt. He rode his roan horse loosely, his black shield hanging from his saddle bow with the falx he favored instead of a sword. Abjur's esquire placed his banner among those at the proving ground, then brought his lord a practice lance. Taking the lance in a stiff, gloved hand, he waited for his esquire to prepare the targets, then lifted his shield and couched his lance. Kicking his horse into a gallop down the list, he stood in his stirrups and slipped the point of the practice lance through the hanging rings, one by one, smaller and smaller, until he finally missed. Pulling the big roan to a halt, he counted the rings, then passed the lance to his esquire.

Climbing from the saddle, he unsheathed his falx and switched his shield from his left to right arm, then spent some time going over slashes and strikes with his esquire. Apparently satisfied (without seeing his face, masked as it was by the cloth hood, who could be sure?), he replaced his falx and shield on his saddle and cast his sight over the field. His pale blue eyes falling on the nearby tavern, he fished a pouch from within his cloak and passed it to his esquire, pointing toward the building and leaning near his man, who seemed to listen for a moment before he nodded and rushed away to do his master's bidding. A cheer rose up from the tavern while the robed Duke returned to his horses back and left the field for his accommodations.

Roleplay from Tordan
(Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow)

A sparring partner presents himself

A rather humble and frankly, old man bearing the emblem of the Royal Rangers is making the rounds at the tournament field. Looking in on training matches and where appropriate offers a kind word of advice. The time worn lines on his face speak of a hard life filled with danger but remarkably his smile is exceptionally genuine and warm.

When prompted the aged Ranger speaks with a gentle voice. Offering some practice in the form of a training match. Stating that he might yet surprise some of these whippersnappers.

Roleplay from Dellia Leroux Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow (41 recipients) - 28 days, 18 hours, 22 minutes ago The room wouldn't stop shaking, having lost track of how many drinks she'd been offered Dellia found these constant earthquakes a nuisance but luckily her alehand was still steady enough to drink one more. Was this what nobles had been doing whilst adventurers like herself would wait in the cold, maybe it was why jousting was so much fun to watch and why peasants laughed at the cluminess of the nobles.

"I..shhhh..cheers to you all!" she wavered in her words then took a full swing of her ale. "For Sworstrum !" she paused, no that wasn't right..."For ale !"

Roleplay from Emyhr le Craint
(Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow)

"While I could ramble about many matters which would bore you both or recite moments of times gone in Luria or early Tol Goldora, I want to ultimately wish to understand how you both are faring now that the war has ended. What are your plans?"

"Well..." Emyhr placed his hand on Amira's knee, "We have some ratheer important news we wished to tell you."

A smile crept across Amira's face.

"I am pregnant." Amira exclaimed with delight, "The physician told me after I went to get a check up when I was feeling strange."

Amira turned to Emyhr and took a hold of his hand.

"We don't know for certain how long it shall be before I give birth but we wished for you to be the first person, beyond family, to know about it."

Emyhr's attention turned back to Solomon.

"While the future is still mysterious and uncertain, this brings a sense of normalcy to my life. I was shocked at first but now I am just full of joy. After this tournament, I need to think about what I want to do. I have been contemplating turning to a more civilian life and joining our ranks of courtiers, or continuing on with the army."

He paused for a moment to catch his breath.

"While I am unsure, I know that I want to continue to be of service. I shall never reject or resent the sword or the life that comes with it. But with a child on the way, I am thinking further ahead into the future to ensure that they will have a safe home."
Emyhr le Craint

Roleplay from Solomon Greybrook
(Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow)

"Family Le Craint expands! I am so happy for you - your child shall be surrounded by prosperity, safety and happiness here. I cannot wait for the faithful day... Emyhr, regardless of your path, know that I support you wholeheartedly and your experience shall provide whatever field a great merit."

Solomon took in the situation and pondered whether the army was still fit for Emyhr. He was indeed one of the most experienced and reliable commanders in the Host but his brother in all but name was a hero of Tol Goldora and had a bad track record of injury on duty:

"Take your time to make your decision, know that no pathway is finite. I do wish to ask you something incredibly important to me, would you be by my side at my wedding? There is no one else I would rather have."
Solomon Greybrook

Roleplay from Solomon Greybrook
(Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow)

The Wedding of Solomon Greybrook and Sibylle Kinsey – Golden Farrow As the sun began to rise through the morning mist in the Golden Port, Solomon stood on his balcony looking at the scene with delight and apprehension - this day had been seasons in the making. Solomon had received a peculiar scout report that morning which he spent some time staring southbound, wondering the circumstances of such an event. He had addressed the report immediately before he departed but kept the thought in the back of his mind. As part of the tradition, from what he had understood from the texts of the Tidemother, Solomon was accompanied by only his Royal Guard and brother Emyhr to the beach in Golden Farrow. There, Solomon stripped himself of his clothes and entered the cold waters of the Gold Sea in winter. Once entered, brother Emyhr conducted some rites of cleansing in preparation for this momentous occasion as he forcibly submerged Solomon. It is traditionally held by a Priest of the faith but as the Lady Tyra was incapacitated, it was fitting that Emyhr conducted the short procession instead. Willingly at first, the cold began to seep into his bones as his oxygen slowly began to run out but resisted the urge to resist. After many moments, Solomon was dragged out of the sea as Emyhr finished his recital as a fellow noble of the Tidemother, reminding the Navarch that like the Tidemother, we all have an ability to give life and take it away. Once Solomon had recovered from the religious rite, the Navarch began his procession. The wedding would be the pinnacle of the pre-celebrations of the First Golden Farrow tournament as what appeared to be 36 nobles celebrating in the festival like atmosphere. Dressed in his Royal regalia with his Greybrook Sigel, Solomon’s procession began at the gates of Golden Farrow and would weave through the estates of the nobility where eventually they would arrive at the Royal Palace. The streets were lined with peasant onlookers as they celebrated the festival and paraded their ruler with flowers or other forms of well wishing. While most of the city was Sanguis Astroist, Tol Goldora was home to many faiths and in part had their own traditions in wedding ceremonies. While this parade was not of any religious significance, it was an opportunity for Tol Goldora to officially begin the new chapter at the end of Winter and coming into Spring. Arriving at the Royal Palace, many nobles of the realms were in attendance as the Margravine bride Sibylle awaited at the altar. Due to their religious differences, which Solomon was not to enforce on his future wife, the ceremony was in majority a secular matter which took it’s ques from ancient noble tradition as well as this marriage’s importance not only to the realm but to the whole of Dwilight. The couple’s hands were joined by a gold piece of silk rope, emphasising that not only were the two nobles were to be wed but the families of both and their offspring to be joined forever more. With the exchange of rings and the end of the ceremony, the re-decorated Great Hall erupted into celebration as the two nobles became officially husband and wife.

The proceedings would continue throughout the day were all nobles in Golden Farrow were invited to celebrate the joyous occasion as well as the grand feast that would be held throughout the day in the Palace grounds.

Roleplay from Alessia de Medici
(Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow) Following her wedding, Alessia retired to her estate with her husband, Frederick. "I will birth you a son," she says, "A son who will be born to rule. The heir not to our houses, but to Dwilight itself."

Roleplay from Brigitte Tempest
(Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow)

Brigitte sat on the edge of her seat while watching the final joust between Harry from Arnor and Jakoth from Astrum. In an excellent display of skill Harry had dispatched Jakoth three to zero lances. Dame Tempest observed all the nuances in the champions style trying to infer what gave him such a decisive edge. The tournament was over all too fast however Brigitte was quite pleased with her personal results, making it to the third round of each event.

Most notable to Brigitte was the joust between herself and her good friend Ser Ross with him working up the Dame up before their match. Ser Ross would land a sloppy first hit glancing off Brigitte's armour but breaking his lance nonetheless. Determined to win the round against her friend Dame Tempest would lock her eyes on the prize and land an excellent blow breaking her lance on Ross’s chest who after the second bout would tease the Dame again by informing Brig that he would no longer go easy on her. This fired Brigitte up even more and in the third bout charged with such ferocity that her next hit would knock Ross clear off his steed.

Feeling confident from the tournament Brigitte knew now was the opportune time to dispatch the letters and finally meet the tournament's host in person Navarch Solomon Greybrook.

Dame Tempest finds the Navarch on the tournament grounds flanked by some of his royal guard. She approaches him and takes a knee before introducing herself,

“Navarch Solomon the Wise, as you no doubt already know I am Brigitte Tempest. I am glad you accepted my request for an audience as I very much wanted to thank you in person. The tournament was fantastic and I feel proud to say I have proven myself not a complete novice. I hope you found my matches entertaining to watch.”

The Dame rose from her knee to face the Navarch properly before continuing, “I have taken your letters to heart, but I still do not have a firm answer for you. I would like to take more time to think on your words and I was hoping we might continue our conversations again in the future even after I depart Golden Farrow. I know you are royalty and I’m only a noble but I would like you to know that I consider you one of my very few friends on Dwilight. Even though we will soon find half a world between us, know that you will always have my ear. I realize someone as wise as yourself might not have any use receiving advice from someone like me but if you ever require an outside perspective do not hesitate to write to me in the coming months.”

“You may not be my king, but I hope that someday we can fight side by side for a noble cause.” Brigitte took a bow before continuing, “With this I shall take my leave as i’m sure you have many to greet and congratulate. I wish you all the best until we meet again”

Dame Tempest left the Navarch to gather her things before sailing across the sea. It would be a cold and treacherous journey back to her home during these winter months.

Report from Gheric Arylon
(Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow)

Great Nobles of Dwilight --

I bring with me tidings from my countrymen in Westgard, who were unable to join this tournament en masse due to persistent and increasing invasions of the vicious beasts that roam the north. My knights are desperately fighting for their lives and those of our people right now, and could not be spared.

However, I could not allow this grand tournament to happen without coming to pay my respects to not only you, the tournament participants who have gathered from all over Dwilight to join in song, drink and competitive games, but also Navarch Solomon Greybrook and the fine people of Tol Goldora.

Few could have imagined, some months ago, that an Archon of Westgard would embrace the Navarch of Tol Goldora and call him friend, or that the knights of Tol Goldora and those of Westgard could come together in friendship at an event like this.

Few could have imagined Tol Goldora marching to aid Westgard against the hordes. Few could have imagined a Westgardian marrying a Tol Goldoran, and the reverse happening in each realm. Few could have imagined any of what has transpired that has brought us so closely together, so soon after a bitter and difficult war.

But it happened, which is a testament to the heart of nobility beating throughout these lands.

This tournament was a happy occasion. An eventuality of the Golden Farrow Accords and a joint venture between the two realms now at peace, it is my distinct pleasure to see that it produced such participation and such immensely entertaining results.

Congratulations to all competitors, and specifically to those who went deep in the competition. Your fierceness is a testament to your training and to your people.

I am sorry I could not have been among you longer, but I am immensely gratified that I was able to make it in time to see the competition, and I thank Navarch Greybrook for allowing me to watch from his box, sitting with him by his side.

As you return home, noble knights, take with you the spirit of these games, this city, and the peace that made it all possible. It is fitting that a celebration in Golden Farrow may now herald a Golden Age of peace and prosperity across Dwilight.

I myself will now return home to battle the hordes invading my land, but once again, thank you for coming. It was an honor to be among you all.
Gheric Arylon

Letter from Harry Weisz
(Message sent to everyone at the tournament grounds in Golden Farrow)

Many thanks for the kind messages and congratulations for a lively tournament. My best wishes to the betrothed and congratulation to the victor in the sword fighting, a contest that has always eluded me.

I now set aside my lance to concentrate on more mundane matters as a courtier as per an oath I swore. Good fortunes to you all.. perhaps one day I might yet dust off the old armour to tilt once more. Farewell until then.

What a tournament! I'm happy to see one of my peers make it to the final round. I look forward to the next time we host a tourney here in Golden Farrow. May the gods favor you all, and if there is anything a simple courtier can do to assist our new allies in your battle against the goblin-kin, Archon Arylon, please let me know.

Letters Between a Dame and a Navarch

Letter from Solomon Greybrook, Navarch of Tol Goldora
(Message sent to: Argos Moonsun, Brigitte Tempest, Dellia Leroux, Harry Weisz)

Greetings to you nobles of foreign lands,

I thank you for your patronage and time as we are due to compete in the tourney in 4 short days.

As it stands, we have 24 nobles in total committed to participate which I expect to swell as nobles from the local realms of Westgard, D'Hara and Tol Goldora join.

If you have any questions or would like to meet, send me a letter and I shall hope to attend. There shall also be two weddings in the coming days as well, I hope that you all wish the couples well.

Regards
Solomon Greybrook, Navarch of Tol Goldora

Letter from Brigitte Tempest, Dame of Unterstrom
(Personal message to Solomon Greybrook)

Navarch Solomon Greybrook the Wise

I humbly thank you for your hospitality and welcome to the tournament you have so graciously hosted. I am Brigitte Tempest, I hail from the realm of Sol, but was born on the faraway continent of Beluaterra. Despite my lack of combat experience I simply could not pass up this opportunity to train, learn and with a little luck knock some poor fool off their horse. I shall not let my lack of experience hold me back, and I will gladly face any opponent, meeting them bravely and honourably. I hope you will find my matches at least entertaining if not exhilarating as I charge any man or women regardless of how intimidating they appear. As for the weddings I am not overly fond, having been forcibly married off myself I find them superficial, however if their are free drinks you might find me attending. If you have any questions for me please do not hesitate to ask. Just know I have no trouble answering honestly and bluntly regardless if the question is from royalty.

Respectfully,
Brigitte Tempest, Dame of Unterstrom

Letter from Solomon Greybrook, Navarch of Tol Goldora
(Personal message to Brigitte Tempest)

Dame Brigitte,

Thank you for your kind words, they are well recieved. You have arrived at a opportune moment in our history as you may know, Tol Goldora is celebrating a time of peace where we have returned to our rightful home in Golden Farrow.

I shall be watching both tourneys, looking for nobles young and skilled to perhaps ask to join my realm - it is the heart that counts they say. Hence, I shall keep a good eye on you.

There shall be two weddings, one of the Ambassador to marry my cousin and the other for the Margravine of Golden Farrow to marry myself. The practice for marrying off women is simply draconian and uncouth. Men and women have equal inheritance rights so such matches make no sense, I am sorry you have had to experience such a thing.

My question to you perhaps is whether you think you can fulfill your potential in Sol and if so how? I have fond memories of the Lurian Empire but I do not see the realms as places to realise potential.

Regards
Solomon Greybrook, Navarch of Tol Goldora

Navarch Greybrook the Wise Groom

Well I quite skillfully placed my own foot within my mouth. Rather than an obviously insincere congratulations over your nuptials i'll simply wish you the best. May your marriage actually be one filled with love and joy. As for your question I appreciate your candor so I shall return the favor. To put it bluntly I believe in loyalty however not blind loyalty. So I can say I am not completely loyal to Sol given my circumstances. I am part of this realm because its where I found myself after my husband passed of old age. Given I was his second wife and had no children with him that left me with very little after his passing as his children got everything. I have been doing my Knightly duty for the realm as is expected and required but in the interest of self preservation I have also served myself. A lonely dame impossibly far from her motherland must think of herself first and foremost. I am proud, brave and I shall admit a little stubborn therefore my loyalty and respect must be earned by anyone who wishes to have it. I am finally in charge of my own destiny and I will not so easily give that up. Will I realize my full potential in Sol? I simply do not know yet. The realm pays me well, but I do have great aspirations. I wish to become a renowned cavalier leading an army of valiant knights. Beyond that I yearn for even more. A countess? A Duchess? Setting limits your own potential is what makes one a fool and that is not me. I would reach out and grab the stars themselves should the opportunity present itself. I hope you do not find me rude. If you get to know me better you'll come to understand I am not afraid to speak my mind. I would much rather be forthright than devious, a trait that seems under appreciated in these times.

Sincerely,
Brigitte Tempest, Dame of Unterstrom

Letter from Solomon Greybrook, Navarch of Tol Goldora
(Personal message to Brigitte Tempest)

Dame Brigitte,

Please do not worry, it is a mistake that people can make.

One of the traits I find most valuable in knights is the frank honest clarity. I would rather one honest aide than 4 yes men. Therefore, your approach is very refreshing.

Ambition is a useful tool for self growth if used in the right way. Perhaps it will help you grow in Sol and take the realm back to the prosperity it seeks. Yet, I fear the Empire will one day suffer strife from many years of overabundance where it's nobles cannot manage its regions. While the Empire has plump coffers and granaries, when I served it made me too blind to opportunity and true success. This is perhaps one of the many reasons why I left the Lurian Empire, to seek a challenge and prove to myself I was more than I previously was. The west has unbound potential in this case and always in need of strong nobles of character.

I hope these words have left some things for you to think about. I wish the best for you in this tournament and beyond. Please do not fear sending me a letter or if you remain in Golden Farrow to meet. While I am ruler, I wish to engage all whom wish to see me.

Kind regards
Solomon Greybrook, Navarch of Tol Goldora

Navarch Greybrook Your words are indeed wise, and I shall contemplate them earnestly. The wedding was quite the spectacle and I thank you for inviting me. Aside from the religious portion it was nice to see and be part of such a joyous occasion. Should you have the time and would grant me an audience id like to dispatch this pen and greet you properly.

Sincerely,
Brigitte Tempest, Dame of Unterstrom
