History
The Splendid Gauntlet's of Ubent were crafted in the forges of Castle Ubent long ago, commissioned by an ancient king who wanted to be able to tame a dragon with his own hands. The gauntlets were of magnificent make, and legend has it five mighty wizards came from across the East Continent to infuse their steel with the power to subdue even the greatest of beasts. From there stories related to the legend differ, with some saying the king succeeded in subduing and taming the dragon as he had hoped, while other say even with the gauntlets the king was still not powerful enough. One version embraces the glory of ambition unfretted and the other speaks to caution about letting ones ambitions cloud judgement. either way the gauntlets were lost at some point and remained purely legend until being recently recovered from a band of monsters that had taken up residence in a cave that held the skeleton of a massive but long dead dragon.
