The Power Wounded by The Serpent

The Battle of Lacint

An ambitious Duchess was everything that Yeux needed to start well that battle. He fought for Avalon. And he fought to defend the honor of a hero victorious in countless battles. Certainly, a merit that no tax could wane.

In the arid lands of Lacint, the troops were ready to fight. The great horde of monsters advancing against them. Their number was not impressive, but the monsters were well known by the ferocity, size and power. And such power was clearly visible in the name of the bestial creature who controlled them. Under the flags of Avalon, two lines of archers led by the infantry of Lady Artemisia began shooting his arrows. But under troll skin, the monsters ignored the archers and advanced fiercely against the unprotected infantry. And with courage, the beautiful Baroness of Stempleto fell wounded.

The battle quickly became confused. The second line of infantry advanced accompanied by the cavalry of Sir Jacinto while the archers tried to find their monstrous targets in a little space. Yeux was not intimidated by the unrelenting advance of the enemy. They were monsters, but the Berserks were wild beasts. Drunk with the battle sounds and the smell of blood, they knew no fear. The monster's savagery hit the cavalry, dropping Sir Jacinto from his horse and destroying the resistance of Sir Nezumi. In a few moments the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Justice, who fought valiantly, fell wounded too.

But Yeux Serpentis, Minister of Finances and Baron of Cori standing still while the death was shouting near him. While the Berserks threw themselves against the enemies, the hero with snake eyes chose his enemy. And for him there couldn't be a greater enemy than Power, the leader of that vile horde. And the duelists faced each other in the fierce fighting.

Power? Yeux not noticed a lot of strength when the inhuman enemy blow against the Dazzling Aegis of Righteousness. He received the impact against the shield and attacked with the same arm, whipping the monster with the Aegis and opening his defense for the first blow of the Spatha, the celtic sword that bleed enemies on three continents. The same sword that was bleeding now an enemy that many thought was unbeatable.

The beast roared and attacked, but Yeux was quick like a snake. And he attacked with the same precision and the same poison. Escaping from the attack, he brought up the sword opening a large vertical cut in the creature's chest, ripping the Battered Jacket from the North. In the heat of battle, he thought he had found an enemy that could finally defeat him. But he quickly discovered that he was wrong. Covered with sticky blood, he had defeated Power. With the shield he gave the coup de grace, throwing the creature to the ground.

Power has been wounded by Berserks

While the archers retreated seeking refuge behind the main line, the monsters saw their leader fall defeated and moved with anger. Perhaps fueled by a growing despair, they wounded Sir Deslok and continued to advance, but now it was quite clear that they were being defeated. Were two hours of madness with a glorious end. The Berserks had struggled violently and many had been killed when the twisted horns ordered the retreat. And the victorious warriors of Avalon that still struggling howled when the monsters fled in panic.

Avalon had prevailed in Lacint while the strong winds sang the victory. Yeux Serpentis was covered with the blood and merits of his achievements. He had defeated Cwellan, the Undead at the Battle of Qual. And now he had defeated Power, the Monster at the Batlle of Lacint.

The bards would sing that victory.

And Epic would know that his Power had been defeated in Lacint by the sword of Yeux Serpentis.
