Slaying the Monster's Slaves

The Battles in Fwuvoghor

After his impressive win in Villriil and some interesting discussions, Yeux denied the duel against the slaves to teach them how to fight a good battle. The army marched to attack the City of Fwuvoghor. If one day there existed great walls, now there was only the Motte and Bailey to prevent the wrath of justice.

Yeux Serpentis was holding the Spatha, his celtic sword and the mighty shield, the Dazzling Aegis of Righteousness. The Berserks were drinking the magic potions that guarantee them supernatural strength and rage. With axes and swords they shouted and sang the old battle songs of Cori. On the front lines, they received orders to attack. The banners blew the twisted horns. Then there would be only the organized chaos of a massacre.

The troops rushed forward to jump the moat and finally reach the palisades, fleeing the few arrows that found some unlucky targets. While jumped or attacked the fortifications with blows of axes, the forty-eight enraged soldiers found only a small and courageous defense: nine soldiers of the Sanctus Gloria II. Brave and foolish. But with the tip of the sword they get to kill four Berserks. A small achievement before the certain death.

The insane horde finally crossed the fortifications and the nine solitary soldiers were in trouble. Yeux ruled his domains in that battle. And the carnage was fast and impetuous. Soldiers killing soldiers, but the eyes of serpent were seeking a leader. And he found. The Berserks had surrounded Lady Sihaya, but the line opened for the passage of their Lord. The opponent was certainly a beautiful woman and a warrior determined to protect her realm.

The Sanctus Gloria II was now just a pile of bodies. The Berserks howled and surrounded the duelists while the battle broke out around them. The swords crossed in a metallic sound. Yeux not show the same aggressiveness that had been used against Power, showing against the Lady a refined style. And it was again the powerful aegis that gave the last blow, injuring Lady Sihaya after disarm her. Unfortunately, she didn't enjoy the same kind after Yeux leave with the Berserks to find new opponents. Many men wanted the blood of the little Mordred, but was the Berserks who arrived in time to decimate the weak Republican Triumph, which found triumph that afternoon in die by the wild axes of the best soldiers of Avalon.

That battle was quick and efficient. A challenge much less than he expected, but certainly the most that the weak defenders could offer without the help of their monstrous masters.

The victorious troops temporarily retreated the battlefield after claim the spoils. They ate and partied while honorably allowed the defeated enemy mourning their dead and wounded ones. Yeux rested and cleaned the blood from the sword while his squire was polishing the shield. But the lull was brief and the storm returned with haste. They moved forward once again against the fortifications to claim the region and put there the victorious flags of Avalon.

The enemies had demonstrated the wisdom of the defeated ones, fleeing and abandoning the region. Only some militia resisted there to defend the damaged palisades. But that small group devoid of real forces to confront the superior opponents was being led by Sir Celyn Haerthorne, General of the Republic of Meridian and Duke of Fwuvoghor. The man had shown courage to stand and fight with just three of his soldiers who were now the last guardians against the savagery of the Berserks.

Screaming and howling the wild soldiers decimated the few fighters who dared stand in their way. Yeux followed in a inclement stance, claiming the lives of the poor guys with precise blows of his sword. If the General had been brave he deserved an honorable opponent. And maybe they had already fought together as allies to defend Atamara against the great enemy hordes, but there they were opponents and Sir Celyn had chosen the wrong way when he decided defend the monsters to usurp what belongs to the mankind.

Yeux realized that the General was still wounded after the latest battle, then he stuck the sword in the ground and remained only with the shield. He waited for the attack and defended himself. It was an unfair fight. A small challenge, but that should be honored. And when the opportunity arose, Yeux dropped his opponent with a punch, leaving on his face the mark of the Daemonic Ring of Ice. The last resistance of Fwuvoghor had fallen.
