249 Coins of Gold

Yeux received the news brought by the wind... and for the employees of Morek, that made the law of Morek arrive to the new colony. The hero has just discovered a tavern and he was drinking a little of the delicious drink that he brought with himself from White Plains. He cut a cheese piece with the knife and read the warning, looking at the small employee.

Yeux Serpentis: "250 gold? High Inquisitor should be furious... I knew that he had to update the laws of Morek. I didn't wait that my letters and kind words caused so many problems. But I am happy. For somebody "new in the boat", I made more than most of the poor Knights of Morek, subdued by arrogant and fanatic leaders. And unhappily the beauty of Morek, the beauty that I saw through where I passed in my long travel, is reviled by those irresponsible and inefficient leaderships. Morek is not a shade of Falasan was one day, but I could fall in love for the White Plains's delicious drink and the rustic habits of Mt. Black Nastrond people..."

Yeux was always a quiet man. He served many Lords and fought the whole life for Falasan, seeking the glorious death to find his brother and sister in the Great Halls where the serpent reigns and the men drink and struggle as friends along the eternity. Morek was setting fire on his spirit with new life. And challenge a High Inquisitor was much better than win a duel of songs with a viking of Atamara northern frozen lands. He placed the hand in the sword, scaring the employee.

Yeux Serpentis: "I am Yeux Serpentis. I don't care with gold and crumbs. My conviction is a powerful sword as the cold metal of my blade! Does you see that red star? I won of a child in Bohai... the commoners see the religion with simplicity, not with starving eyes of vulture... always flying in circles, seeking an opportunity to win fame. Did High Inquisitor need an example to silence internal revolts or hide the irresponsibility of great personalities in positions of power? A shameful act..."

The hero caught a coin in the bag and threw to the employee. The coin was part of the last remittance that the family sent for Yeux finance his arrival in Morek. Obviously, the coin had the image of the serpent.

Yeux Serpentis: "Catch your mule and take that coin to High Inquisitor of Morek. Perhaps one day he receives the other 249 coins of my gold. I will be happy in feeding the people of Morek with my gold. The commoners doesn't have blame of the stupidity of the men that govern them. Now go before I cut you in two pieces!"

After the employee left running like an afraid dog, Yeux sat down and laughed how he didn't laugh from the childhood. And he drank to commemorate the success that his name reached in such little time.
