First Blood

Henrich was young and newly arrived from the Far East. He wasn't familiar with the reasons for that war, but he didn't care. First he had to build his own reputation. As his father had taught him, just the battlefield can forge the character of a hero. Honor, glory and blood.

The Eyolf always worshiped the Thunder and Storm. Erik Eyolf, Duke of Avamar led the dreaded Stormwalkers. Now he had his young Stormbringers. Although these lands are unknown to him, his ancestors had marched and bled there. Lothruin was a good region to fight. Elroth and Lothruin. A good start. The new banners sang their war songs and battle howls. Captain Cedred led the troops to the vanguard into the right flank. They lined up along a shield wall with the Shield Bearers of Sir Shaan and The Cobalt Guard of Sir Brandeis. The archers were preparing their deadly arrows in those calm wind blows. Death was coming.

The enemy had only a thin infantry line and maybe some cavalry. After the first arrows crossed the sky, screams and orders were lost and they attacked. A great infantry line devoured the archers and kept coming. Henrich felt the battle joy and advanced until the enemy flank to face the Varangian Guard of the old hero, Sir Scipio. Forty-nine young soldiers against eight brave defenders. It was a small massacre. Fast like a thunder. With swords, blood and screams. In the confusion of bodies, armors and shields, Henrich strike the old hero with a blow of his bastard sword. The young warrior saw the blood. They continue advancing like a storm being pushed by the lines behind them. Knocking down the enemies. Marching over them to find the next swords and shields.

Scipio Highland (Noble of Hammarsett) has been wounded by Stormbringers.

Henrich had taken the right flank. He had marched against what should be the weakest point of the enemy lines and suddenly found himself in an open field with the Hammered Horsemen of Sir Lazlo, King of Hammarsett. The storm roared when the horsemen attacked. Seven men died with the charge. Henrich had time to pull one of them from the horse to the ground and cross his throat with the sword. They barely had time and received another charge from Cash is King of Sir Ellagan, Royal Treasurer of Minas Ithil. All of them went through Henrich and his Stormbringers. As death knights claiming lives. But they also suffered with cold blades taking their hot blood. All of them fell into the hands of another brave warriors.

They were in the open again. Behind them the soldiers were still killing the remaining enemies. That was a good battle. A baptism of fire. Henrich bleed his first blood. He faced a King with his sword and wounded an old hero. His soldiers was foraging the battlefield. Captain Cedred stepped into the hand of a fallen soldier and finished killing him with a blow through his belly. Henrich held his sword. They would hunt that night.
