Arriving in a New World

Tara had trained the young warrior. An ancient tyranny always at war. He has been tested. Despite marching in the land of his ancestors, Henrich felt no familiarity. Heroes of his family had fought and died in Atamara, but he would never find the same flags and ideals. Follow the steps of Yeux Serpentis was a rescue of the past, trying to find his own purposes always treading the traditions of his family.

It would be impossible reconstruct his father's past. Ikalak was no more. His last memory of that Island was the White City disappearing under the water. There were endless nights when the moon and the stars were not moving in the sky. Even the most imperious towers disappeared under the eternal deep blue. As a child, Henrich had witnessed the vagaries of fate. While his early memories compelled him to the eternal heaven over the ocean, the recent past had sunk him in the mud. His character was shaped by an old hero and a region that reflected Gregor's mood. His father liked to sink his feet in the mud and cross the swamps until the scarps to see the ocean that had swallowed his victories and his world. In the Far East, the old hero who had fought in the chilling cold and that scaled the Toren Stronghold against the walls found in Abilotiel positions of great power, wisdom and leadership. His father had died and Far East never seemed an attractive place. He could not take all the responses the old man held.

Henrich arrived in the ports of Echiur. He had traveled only with an old scribe who had served his father and a veteran captain who fought with him in Tara. The nobility was in his name and title, but he was little more than a young warrior who came down from the ship wearing his light armor and a helmet adorned with the head of a dire wolf. Some coins provided a young squire to carry his shield and his crest. His eyes sought incorporate the architecture and the people around. Their habits and behavior. He knew that this was a new world. A world of settlers and pathfinders. Within the city he hired a local healer and a scout. He didn't want to be off guard on his way to the Capital. A natural path led him to the townsland Echiurfield where he found another healer and more informations about his new realm: Asylon. Some letters were delivered there along with essential preparations for a fast travel.

Vakreno Heaps was a challenge. The scout led them safely to a small village where Henrich hired a new local scout to guide them through the valleys and hills to reach Uppervia. The relentless winter made the small group face long ??travels with few hunt, salted fish and hot hare soups. In better times he would like to have spent some time in Uppervia, but under the sharp wind he sought just the best roads the region could offer. Look east and see the city of Via under the mountains was a relief. Even with the cold the city looked heated. Mainly because he went directly to a bank and then to the furnaces and anvils. Soon thirty good soldiers were recruited and received full equipment after swearing allegiance. They will serve under the name of Stormbringers. A tribute to another family member, leader of the invincible Stormwalkers. They received black capes and the shields were painted black like pitch with a stylized lightning bolt crest. A banner was hired to carry the new black flag topped by the huge skull of a scary swamp monster. The largest he found in the great collection of impaled corpses at the palisades of Abilotiel. The last thing he did before leaving the Far East and good memories of youth.

Henrich had again the safety of shields and the ferocity of swords. He was no longer a pilgrim noble. It was time to find a liege and establish estates. A couple of regions needed some support and one of them attracted his attention. He had seen in Echiurfield some beautiful lands, a small strip of good fields between Tofino and Vakreno Heaps. The hope of good deals brought him back to the surroundings of Echiur. A fast ascension was what he wanted and longed to be able to prove.
