Studying the origins of the evil - Part I
Dolmbar, in the House of Healing

The Night arrives with her purple legion. In the woods of Dolmbar, traveling slowly in a dark road, a small group of soldiers and employees led a fortified coach. The fire in the torches trembled with the cold wind. Therefore they would leave the forest back and would find the old property of the House of Healing. The leader of the excursion was the first that saw the warning in a wood plate hung in a tree:

Beware
the woods at night

The group went down by the road and left the forest back. Now the full moon illuminated them with a silver light. Luna round, full and bright. Inside of the coach something began struggling and roar furiously. The employees were still afraid, but now they were already accustomed with the creature's angry noises. In the high of the valley it was the old mansion of dark walls. The walls that surrounded the place were low and there was a great open gate. An narrow street surrounded with pine trees would take the visitors until the entrance of the great house. In the past that house belonged to a rich producer of wine. It was big and now it sheltered study rooms, a great pharmacy and a small hospital. A strange man was waiting in the entrance with two healers in dark clothes. That man was Drazen Stormcrow, the Surgeon Leader and Great Healer of Dolmbar. He dressed a black coat and a metal mask with format of crow beak hid his face. The mask had small openings for breathing with a filter of fine textile and glasses to protect the eyes. A hat and a cane completed that frightening person.

Drazen Stormcrow: "Finally you arrived. I hope you have made everything correctly, avoiding the busy roads and just traveling at night."

The Drazen voice was choked, as well as his breathing under the mask. The great metallic beak of crow and the glasses covered his human traces. He was a scary image.

Excursion Leader: "The creature was found in the forest, close to the border with Lissambar. I paid some coins of gold for an adventurer like we combined. He was very satisfied and promised not speak anything about that. Nobody saw our retinue."

Drazen Stormcrow: "Good work. Now we will take the specimen to the basement!"

The group was approximating of a side entrance that took direct to the basement. That place had already been a great wine cellar, but now it was a great space for medical researches. The coach stopped close to a iron door and one of the employees opened it.

Excursion Leader: "Guards!!! We will open the coach. Be alert!"

The employees stood back quickly and the guards caught the heavy wood sticks. For one moment everything was silent. One of the guards stretched out his hand until the door and opened it. A violent roar exploded inside the coach. The creature tried to jump outside, dragging the chains that arrested it. The poor guard he also screamed desperate and he gave two steps back, falling with the buttock in the ground. Under the moonshine all could see the creature trying to jump outside, arrested by the chains. It was a human, or it was one day. Some parts of his body were virulent and another were covered with gray fur. That monstrous man was not completely alive. He was deformed and furious. And he was not dead. He was an Undead.

The moment of terror was brief. The creature fought now with the last forces. Drazen caught a small flask in his coat and threw the content in the face of the "cadaver". The powder was a strong mixture of opiates and anesthetic herbs. The creature sneezed and shook the head. Slowly it went losing the forces until falling in the stairway of the coach.

Drazen Stormcrow: "Take the creature to the basement."

The two healers loosened the chains and they dragged the asleep creature to the basement. Drazen paid some gold coins for the leader of the excursion and he gave more some advices so that nothing was said about the subject. In little time the coach and the employees disappeared in the darkness. The valley was silent again.
