The Raskolnikev Family

Nominally, this royalty was born in the saddle. Arising from generations of breeders, traders and trainers of fine horse flesh, the Raskolnikevs rose to what prominence they hold due to the need for mobility and therefore draft and war animals.

Residing through a series of guarded valleys in the foothills of Inxidistrict of the Ash Sea Islands, they welcome any who come with coin or news of the greater world... often giving those not yet for the knighthood lessons in how to stay in the saddle.

The Raskolnikevs have a storied record of loyalty to the soveriegns of the Ash Sea Islands, though few strong sons have risen to the call of battle, something that has quietly grieved the men of the clan for some time nearly so much as the matriarchal structure. (This last is true especially Orsus, who has sired no fewer than 8 daughters and had nearly given up when Sorscha finally delivered a boy)
