The invading army left a rather evident trail to follow. Circenzio kept his distance but continued to send scout forwards in order to make sure the King of the Dominion of Alluran was really joining the battle at the monster's side.

Rumors reached him of an impressive bounty on the head of that man, and Circenzio was determined to not let such occasion pass by.

Patiently, he waited atop a nearby hill hidden in the foliage till the battle reached its climax. The few dozens soldiers waving the green banner of Alluran were like a drop in an ocean made of swarming monsters assaulting the walls in several points. Nevertheless, as he expected, the humans dutifully followed the orders of their king and assaulted the walls bravely.

That was the moment for Circenzio to come out from his hiding place. Sneakily he made his way to the battlefield, covered both by the dim light of sundown and the confusion that surrounded the city attacked by the beast. He guessed monsters were not that able to tell a human from another, but to avoid any unnecessary risk he readily found the corpse of an Allurian soldier taken down by Enweilian arrows and picked up his tabard.

The assaulters were clearly gaining the upper hand, monsters swarmed the battlements and militia was retreating, yet the Allurians, not superior to the militia neither in number nor in kind, were repelled. Amongst them was the king, shouting to keep his men together. In a moment of whirling green banners, arrow hissing through the ranks and men shouting Circenzio stroke.

He hit with a violent stab to the King's back, keeping one hand in front of the mouth to keep him silent and lastly, when the men's body was losing its strength, stealing his royal ring as a proof of the assassination. Left his target lying in a pool of blood, he fled with the rest of the King's company unnoticed, hurrying to cash his well deserved and amazingly rich bounty afterwards.
