The Origin of the Soul

Mystics do not understand the soul as something created. Rather they see it as something perpetual with no beginning and no end. Many are inclined to believe that souls exist in the universe anytime and everywhere and will take form as a conscious being by their own volition. The act of a soul becoming a participant in the Hierarchy is arbitrary. When the soul decides to participate in the Hierarchy of the Gods only then can it challenge the hierarchy and grow strength. Depending on many unknown variables, a soul can begin its struggle at the very bottom as a mimic, or as a Power God. When a soul reaches above Power God, they then have the class options of remaining formed or becoming formless. A soul entering the Hierarchy as a mimic cannot become a god unless given one recommendation. Recommendations for mimics are earned through the Soul Trade.

A soul that is not a participant in the Hierarchy of Gods is considered to be oblivious and unconscious. It is possible for a soul to join the Hierarchy, rise up the ranks, and then fall back into oblivion. It is also possible for that oblivious soul to return again. There are no restrictions in the universe overseen by the Paramount God.
