Urus Metsamees

Urus

Urus son of Arctos Metsamees.

In his youth Urus was much like his father, a cheerful and overly lively boy. Fortunately he didnt seem to inherit his fathers lack of responsibility and discipline. And seemed more mature in his early youth than his father had ever been in his lifetime. And at times he would even scold his father for slacking off. The boy trained hard ever since he could remember, as is custom in Metsamees family. Arctos trained Urus himself, he spared with him often, and Urus performed well. And it was clear that Urus had much more potential to martial arts than Arctos, and it made Arctos proud. Urus was also very caring of his little sister Simone, and he would often take her along with him, or play with her when ever they both had the spare time.

When Urus was 16 his father in his thirst for strength used magics to enhance his body. He knew Metsamees lineage due to it breeding was incompatible with magic save for feau exeptions, (Metsamees bloodline has focused on internal forces from times immemorial by training of the body and mind in every generation, those internal forces would clash with any external ones should those enter resulting in explosive outcomes, thus ironically healing magics would be most harmful for one of Metsamees blood) Thus Arctos sought different powers, powers of the void, those different or even opposite of the usual magic, luckly Outer Tilog was nearby and provided such a source. Arctos by using magic on himself, had by accident turned himself in to a monster, destroyng his mind and distorting his body. He went on a rampage had killed both Uruses mother and sister. Urus had to face a horrifying visage of his monsterified father eating the corpses of the rest of his family. Urus faced the monster in combat at the side of his half-uncle Ikki and a son of his fathers cousin Ulmus, who was rather close to Urus in age, and they got along well. Ulmus got killed in the battle, Urus escaped death by a hair, but suffered a big wound on his chest that left a scar, a mark to remind and haunt him of that days events. Ikki offered to take Urus with him, to the clan main halls on Atamara, should he not wish to travel with him. But Urus refused to leave his homeland, thus Ikki left on his own, figuring Urus to be strong enough to survive alone.

Indeed Urus was strong enough, he hunted monsters and bandits with his own hands, and lived of that. Urus no longer called himself Metsamees, asif tryng to sever all that bound him to his now dead past. Surely most of the friends he had would no longer deal with him, now that he was no different from a peasant, he knew that. At a time at a inn, he was robbed by a gang, though Urus was strong, the enemy number were many, it might had been a vengeance of thugs, as he also hunted bandits in the past. Urus was submitted to torture and humiliation best left undescribed and was thrown in to the muddy ditches when the thugs thought him dead. His body was nearly dead, and mentally he wasnt simply wounded, he was broken. Robed of his home and family, a seeming betrayal by his father, the man he trusted the most. And now his body, all he had left, ravaged by random thugs. Urus however managed to stand up and wander to a healer, driven by the only emotion he could muster, a emotion stronger than any he had ever experienced in his brief life, one strong enough to make a body that is nearly a corpse, stand. The emotion if to put in to words would be: "~i want to live~", the base instinct of survival.

Weeks later when he had physically recuperated, he went on a quest for vengeance. But he hunted down random thugs, and visited as much pain on them as he could before theyr bodys broke. The thugs inturn gathered theyr entire gang and turned other gangs against him aswell. Thus began a underground head hunt on Urus. After several bloody strifes Urus had murdered may thugs, and in the underground his head became a wanted trofee. Uruses life had at that moment turned once again for the worse. Now where ever he went he would meet trouble. But Urus liked it that way, the battles had hardened him, and by that time none were able to touch him. Life in constant hate, strife and violence. And Urus had become to love such a life. He had developed a taste for violence and blood. And would seek it on his own if it feared to seek him.

Thus once a gentle cheerful boy, had turned in to a beast in human skin, in a way like his father once by accident, now his the son without noticing it himself. His prey might had been monsters for most times, but he was by no means on humans side, no ones side but his own.

Now he stood alone, under heaven, atop all hell.

Marin

Years passed, years that Urus spent fighting. Urus had ended up on the opposite side of the continent, in the realm of Oritolon, where he had managed to be listed as a citizen. After a long time of life in the shadow of society, Urus found himself missing the home forests, Urus returned north, and abandoned his citizenship, and became a citizen of Assassin realm once again.

It seemed that the bandit gangs that often hunted him had either grown tired or run thin, as his days were getting gradually more peaceful.

The last time he had a strife with thugs was in a tavern in Dark Citadel, the thugs were turned to corpses in a matter of seconds and Urus left. Witnessing his fight and also a part of Uruses soul from a glimpse at his eyes, the girl followed him. She was named Marin, and the two traveled together ever since.

Urus had been living a life of a stray dog that bit all the hands that reached for him. Marin however had been an orphan for a long time, and lived alone on the streets, life on the streets alone for a young girl is especially difficult. They soothed each others solitude and completed the other where they lacked. To Urus Marin was some one he could trust, some one who needed him, some one he needed. To Marin Urus was some one she could trust, some one who would welcome her, some one she could rely on.

In time Urus taught her how to fight and bought her a sword. Marin helped to heal the wounds in his soul, though scars will always remain, she had turned him halfway back to human, though perhaps alittle twisted and distorted, compared to his youth.
