The Fundamental Priciples of an Organized Body
In order for any organization or group to be founded, the historical circumstances and the vision and efforts of the founders are important. However, as the organization becomes stable, some will forget the principles of its founding and secertly begin to create trouble. Of course, the nature of the founding principles must change according to the demands of the time, but these changes should occur as a continuing process of evolution. An organization that forgets its founding principles, although it may appear well organizied, will eventually disintergrate and collapse; one must not overlook the sucessive stages of the organization's development in the past.
Never Forger to Persevere
Stagnation begins when one is relieved and statisfied with small achievements. This can be the beginning of one's downfall as a result of not reflecting because of overconfindence. Only those who continually reexamine themselves and correct their faults will suceed.
It is Useless to Depend on the Gods
If one relies on the gods, then one will not be able to take risks. Unless one has the spirit to say to oneself, "If the god who took the side of my enemy should come toward me, I will break him in two", then one will not be able to be sucessful.
Law
The dead can never be revived. Thus, laws should be lenient. The laws and regulations of a realm should be clear and concise, and once established they should not easily be changed. When making laws, facts must be investigated thoroughly and caution must be taken to prevent omissions.
Endless Unnecessities
A soldier needs only a small tent to rest, not a palace. Likewise, one only requires enough food to fill the stomach, not a whole display of delicacies. What are extravgant feasts for? There is only so much a man can eat. These feasts are only good for observing others eatingl nothing good comes from them.
