The Principality of Luria Ferrata or simply Luria Ferrata is one of the four realms of the Lurian Empire, the others being Luria Nova, Sol, and Swordfell. Founded during the event known as 'The Split'; the burgeoning Empire of Luria Nova willing separated into two realms to better combat the monster hordes, and its own overwhelming size. Luria Ferrata languished for a time after its founding, with the rest of the Empire during the Great Uncertainty that followed the rule of the Half-Day Tyrant, whose name has been stricken from record. Luria Ferrata's first Dux was Cador Andrasta, whose reign was a period of silence, his only contribution being the establishment of the Rostra, meant to be a ruling body composed of elected officials and council members, which ultimately failed due to the lack of leadership. Cador Andrasta announced his retirement, and the following weeks proved to be controversial, with at least one contender losing their life in a duel. Alessio de Medici was selected from the chaos of the Pretender's Council, and soon after his elevation to Dux, Alessio de Medici ascended to the Imperial Throne, the first active Emperor the Empire had seen since the disappearance of Aldrakar the Adversarial, and ending the Great Uncertainty.

The reign of Alessio de Medici has seen a revitalization of the arts and culture, and an expansion of the Lurian Empire, doubling in size. His reign has also seen war erupt, with the Lurian Empire sailing abroad to defend their allies from the yoke of oppression. From the victories of Demyansk to the bloody battlefields of Sol, Ferrata has left its mark.

The realm went downhill when Alessio went silent. When he eventually disappeared from the eyes of the public, Luria Nova reintegrated the realm back. Once the reintegration was completed, Luria Nova began erasing all traces of Alessio.

Lands

The Principality of Luria Ferrata is composed of two Lurian Kingdoms, Sun Hall and Sky Hall. It covers a large swath of territory from the Stone Coast, to the Lake Irving, to the Sallowscape Drift. The capital of Luria Ferrata is the massive metropolis of Giask, the second largest city on Dwilight.

Military

Luria Ferrata's beginnings were slow and painful, as two Kingdoms separated from the traditional confines of a singular Imperial ruling body. As such, several of its military institutions were fragments of older times, and underwent a deal of growing pains. Listed below are the armies, active and retired, of Luria Ferrata.

  • Empire's Reach - The Reach is the offensive army of Luria Ferrata, traveling abroad to enforce the will of the Emperor. The Reach excels at long range military expeditions, traveling the length and breadth of the continent to combat the enemies of the Empire. In their very first campaign, the Reach traveled to Demyansk and handed the Lightbringers of Westgard a crushing defeat. Their defeat was compounded by the boasting of their Marshal, Exarch Selenia Chenier, immediately prior to the battle.
  • Sanguine Guard - The personal guard of the Dux, the Sanguine Guard also bears the honor of being the Imperial Guard, providing security for the Emperor and the Imperial Family. Detachments are also assigned to Ferratan Royalty, and their presence can be felt in every corner of the Principality, as they are the primary home guard and police force.
  • The Silver Hammers - The personal army of Cador Andrasta, upon his abandonment of the Principality the sponsorship fell to Donald "the Absentee" Augustus Allen, who, to no one's surprise, demanded titles, amassed them, and promptly disappeared. The Army is largely considered cursed, its marshals having a habit of vanishing, or being killed in combat.
  • The Legionem Aurorae - The former army of Sun Hall. Dwindling membership has resulted in this army being retired with dignity.
