Viscountess Kwa Takes Purse at Luria Tournament
Alice Arundel, Queen of Luria Nova, Royal of Luria Nova, Duchess of Giask, Baroness of Smokey Hills hosted a tournament of Joust and Swordfight. 24 nobles from 10 realms fought and drank at the tournament in Askileon, Luria Nova. A purse of 2500 gold was announced for the winner, as well as 1000 gold for second place. Viscountess Kwa Comacho, who was recently appointed to the lordship of Shuberstone, was awarded second place in the Swordfight competition. Viscountess Kwa recounted her experience:

The messenger shoves a letter into my pocket before bowing, tipping his hat, then swinging around and marching straight back out the door. I stand there in my tenement room, amongst many a rag-tag denizen of this lower class ward, blinking twice before wondering how in the stars this man managed to find me. Fishing the letter open I scan it’s brief and flowery wording; an invitation, it seems, to a tournament most fair, hosted in such a far distant land as Luria… Nova, was it? At once I clamber to gather my belongings, for haste is of the essence to make it in the time allotted, which is six days. Six days -- not even a week and they expected me to fly one to another of these twin continents!

Bidding my farewells, I set off on foot. Across the verdant, untouched fields of Asylon. Into the blasted Moors of that ransacked realm, Phantaria. Down towards the river that does flow from Dragons Roost, I raft towards that humble city Chesney, where I procure last minute passage on a D’Haran schooner. I watch from the aft deck as the locomotive power of wind upon sails steadily speeds the ship’s departure from the harbour. I wave farewell to the strangers on the docks and am blown across the ocean by great maritime winds. The waves of the inner sea rock my boat like a cradle and I spend the trip alternating between retching over the rails and marvelling at the beauty of the sea. At last, I reach my destination, the city of Askileon.

At once I am struck by it’s splendour. It’s towers fly over me; double story houses line the streets; everywhere at once my senses are assailed by exotic costumes, spices and throngs of people from all over Dwilight. This is one of the great cities of the East. Not to dilly dally, though, I make my way to the tournament grounds, where I am just in time for the opening ceremonies. Two knights joust in a show match while I regain my land legs.

Despite the free admission and hefty prize pool, there are not many nobles competing against me. The time quickly comes for my first match to begin, and I take my place within the sword ring. My challenger fumbles his way into the ring, making a great show of himself in his clanging armour, which looks too large for his body. I sigh and duly dispatch him, learning afterwards that he is a chap named Aldarion of Umbar, whoever that is. Three more contestants are soon to lie at my feat in supplication, as I quickly make it through the rounds without breaking a sweat. Finally, my last challenger appears, Saul of Luria Nova. I had not had time to size up my opponents beforehand, having arrived so late, so I did not at the time know how dangerous he was. Soon to find out, though, he grimly set upon me with powerful precision which left me eating dust. I had lost, but at least I had fought a champion.

Some servants revived me in time for the jousting matches, which were held only shortly after the sword fighting matches, not allowing me much time to recover. Nonetheless I flawlessly unhorsed my first two opponents, without once being unseated myself. Next I come to my third match, where I am to face against the greatest chevalier at the tournament. I fight admirably and even win a round, but my adversary, Rebec the D’Haran, is to prove my better. He went on to win the tournament, but he most humbly commended my performance, for I was the only one to unseat him.

We drank wine and feasted afterwards. It was not a notable affair, as there were so few attendees. Reflecting on this adventure, I have to say that the greatest part was the journey. The ocean, the river, the moors of Phantaria, and beautiful Asylon were truly a sight. The gold I won was nice, but I find myself yearning for the time in which I once more trek across foreign lands -- with any luck I’ll have an army next time. Here’s to war with the theocracies!

Elections
Quarterly elections are being held for the positions of High Magistrate and Treasury Logothete. Running are incumbent High Magistrate Henrich Eyolf Serpentis, who is also the Viscount of Kid’s Rock and a Priest of the Cult of Bloodmoon, and Viscount Maron Altir of Lowervia. Viscount Henrich issued the following statement: “With your trust, I intend to continue serving the kingdom as High Magistrate. Along the calm waves and harsh times of war, I served within our laws and confiscated a good amount of gold form our prisoners since it's a good tradition inside my family. I'm always honored to serve our King and defend Asylon, my new motherland.” Storm General of Asylon Earl Edwyle Stark of Tofino declared his support for Lord Henrich stating “There is no better nobleman for the position of High Magistrate that the Lord Henrich Eyolf. He has proven many times to be a true Asylonian. My trust is in him.” The Eyolf family recently invested 350 gold in the region of Itau, increasing production by 120%.

The only candidate so far for Treasury Logothete is incumbent Earl Wulfric Lucifer of Itaufield. Earl Wulfric’s scribe delivered the following statement, “I shall be running again as Treasury Logothete. I would be honoured to have your continued support.”

Battle in Aspar
Foreign insurgents made the mistake of attacking the region of Aspar. Edwyle Starck, Storm General of Asylon, Earl of Tofino was spotted wearing the Black Ring. The insurgents expressed regret for their foolhardiness prior to their execution. Sir Axylia Dundrave was also reported to have cut his teeth while cutting the mottled hirsute flesh of monster invaders in Aspar.
Battle Royale in Lowervia
Grimrog Bjarnson, King of Asylon, Royal of Asylon, Duke of Bloodmoon, Earl of Via was spotted wearing the Ralag's Crown in a series routs visited upon the successive bands of rogues that have descended upon the region in recent weeks. His Majesty was also spotted wearing the Thrice-Blessed Chain Mail.
New Recruitment Centre in Itau
Henrich Eyolf Serpentis, High Magistrate of Asylon has stepped down from his command position in Kid's Rock. He has given the following reason: “With the trust of our King, I will leave Kid's Rock to take care of Itau.” Magistrate Henrich’s family recently invested 350 gold in the region of Itau, boosting production to 122%. A new Infantry centre was constructed in the region. Troops from the centre will have a training of 35%, weapons quality of 65% and armour quality is 75%. 11 volunteers signed up immediately. Said Henrich Eyolf Serpentis, High Magistrate of Asylon, “I'm feeling lucky today. Maybe they can be useful for our militias.”
Wither Saffalore
Terran has taken control of Saffalore. The region used to belong to (rogue). Viscount Maron Altir, Viscount of Lowervia was quoted saying, “Those nobles of Saffalore and Phantaria are traitors and cowards, abandoning Terran when things got complicated.” However Graeth Geg, Duke of Berserk Bear, Margrave of Echiur, Priest of the Cult of Bloodmoon disagreed: “I would say simultaneously being decimated by Asylon's and Aurvandil's armies counts as more than just average complications.” Still, Viscountess Kwa attributes Terran’s demise to the treachery of a certain tyrant named Priest Hirshemont, whom Glaumring Apasurain, Royal of Asylon, Viscount of Vakreno Heaps, described as “an evil man” and a “two-headed snake” whose “time will come.”
Drought in West Hills Has Ended
The drought in the West Hills has ended. A few feeble-minded peasants were afraid that food would run out. They should have known that the leadership of Asylon would provide for them. A few hundred were executed due to their lack of faith. The rest were spared in a gracious display of mercy by the realm leadership.
