Most unique items (carried) - 10

Nobles of Sirion,

For all my time spent in the wilderness, I wish to set a record - nay, blow it out of the water. The record is this: Most unique items (carried) - 10

For now, I only have this as partial evidence. Scribe Note Battle in Dolmbar

But it only shows half of what I have. Therefore, to add legitimacy to the record keeping monks of Wi Ki, I shall be offering all ten of my items to everyone I come into contact with as proof. It's not for trade as it will be offered at 1000 gold each and many of them are already falling into disrepair. I ask that those who have been offered say a few words that what I say is true and that I'm not making any of these up. Thank you.

   Blessed Chain Mail of Life
   Tempus' Feather of the Maiden
   Brilliant Jacket of the Dragons
   Warhammer of Blood
   Mysterious Nightblade of Tabost
   Ebony Sword of Unlife
   Mighty Sword of Daemonslaying
   Ancient Helm of Life
   Shield against Fire
   Obsidian Blade of Destruction
Should any wish to hear the tales of any one of these items I shall be glad to regale.

Champion of champions

It was a strange sight that entered the city of Sirion several days ago. A first glance would show a simple wanderer - one of the many who passed through the gates of the capital but there was something different about this one. You just had to look carefully.

First was his walk - it was purposefully. Then there was his demeanour - it was all business. Only then did you notice his attire - by name his armour would be called the Blessed Chain Mail of Life - that which gave him vitality and strength, and underneath it was the Brilliant Jacket of the Dragons that not only kept out the cold but was fireproof. On his head sat the Ancient Helm of Life from which the wisdom of the ancients poured into its wearer and in his left hand he held the Shield against Fire that could withstand even the breath of the dragons.

And of his weapons, it was not to be believed. He was more armed than the most dangerous assassin! In his right hand he held the Mighty Sword of Daemonslaying and it was rumoured that it was the sword he had wielded when he slew Gorgorrah - the ancient evil that plagued the elves since time immemorial. Strapped across his back was his backup sword, the Ebony Sword of Unlife rumoured to take the life - or rather the unlife of the many foul walking dead that roamed the dark forests. Tied to his waist was the Warhammer of Blood - one hit from this and the recipient would not know night from day. Then there were his twin daggers: the Mysterious Nightblade of Tabost - when all else failed, a concealed dagger would deliver a swift and silent death and the Obsidian Blade of Destruction, whose history of the lives of men ruined were fabled.

The stranger was nonchalant with the Tempus' Feather of the Maiden stuck in his helm. There was a story behind that feather but one too private to share. Of course, none of the population knew any of these as they stared at him and at his items. One thing they did know was that he was no ordinary stranger - and that made the day strange in itself. A strange thing indeed. The stranger smiled to himself as he strode into the city. He was Jayden Fury, Champion of champions - and the blight of rogues and ruffians everywhere.

Can you read the law for what it really is?

There is surely some mistake. Judge Ecthelion is running for ruler, not judge. In fact I've already voted for him.

If you wish for the Judge to determine the law in his sole capacity then do not vote for me. I will only do this if the matter is urgent. I will also take the responsibility. For everything else, if you want a say in how our laws are formed, then vote for me.

There are many things 'stated' as law but are either unclear or not stated at all. No one will receive any punishment from following an issued order from someone leading them. This is so true. But it's not what's stated in the law. Here's what it really says: Anyone found to be moving out without orders will be fined. This is what it really means: you can't go anywhere unless you're ordered to. Do you agree with this? Then vote to keep the status quo. If you want someone who can read the law for what it really is, then vote for me.

This strict chain of command is a myth. We had conflicting orders from the General and the Prime Minister recently. We also had conflicting orders between the General and a Marshal. Now the Prime Minister has claimed that under the 'laws', Marshals are free to lead their armies as they wish. When someone finds this 'law', please let me know.

There seem to be many unstated 'laws'. I believe these things will keep us in the dark. If you are content with the way things are, then do not vote for me.

Arrangements made between realms such as prisoner arrangements must be inked in treaties. Then they will remain in effect even with a change in personnel. Something made by word of mouth is simply an agreement. Of course, it won't last! But it's an interesting way to keep a post, I guess. If you wish for things to be done right, then vote for me.

The council needs courage.

General Staff,

I believe it is time for a change of strategy - a complete overhaul. Prime Minister Zakilevo is giving suggestions left and right. Duke Erik is plainly stating his feelings. Marshal Giselle had previously led her army on her own strategy. We are getting conflicting orders to refit according to CS and then according to number of men. The RD was ordered from Greatbridge to refit in Krimml and now barely a few days later we are back in Greatbridge to continue supporting the TO.

I demand that the council do something about this as it is every much their fault that we are NOT winning and you KNOW this. Do I need to be plainer? Someone has to speak up and I am saying what everyone is thinking. The council cannot appoint someone and absolve their responsibility.

I would hear from the other Marshals and Vice Marshals. The Council needs courage.

Application for General.

Realm Council,

I am applying for the position of General. Orders will be given out early. If they cannot then they will be pre-ordered with conditions depending on scout reports.

For a brief history: Since I joined the Sirion military I have been content to be placed in the Sirion Scarlet Hunters, to do what I do best - destroy the undead and monsters. Later, my Liege recommended me to be placed in the Red Dragons for my activity. Further on, I was appointed Vice Marshal of the Red Dragons. As Sirion was the most powerful military force on the island, I was content to relay orders as Vice Marshal, never needing to look at the overall picture of our war until one day, I had a chat with Nivemus' General. Then I looked at the map and saw half of Nivemus' regions turned rogue. That was the first inkling I had that the war was not going according to plan.

After paying more attention, I narrowed down the problem to our late General. The problem was that there was NO plan. It was basically maneuvers with no coherent strategy, a lack of courage, and of seizing the moment. After pointing it out to the General Staff, I had to take on a more decisive role lest we really started losing the war.

So here is the plan: The regions of travel between Westmoor and Sirion are at most 3 regions wide. Currently, they are fielding 10-15K. I propose that our 3 armies field 15K each bringing a total of 45K. We continue to loot or TO (depending on the situation) Bruck, Dulbin and Hagley. AoS will see to Hagley while the RD and the SL see to the other two and at any time ready to converge. At all times, our armies should be within a day's march from each other for any convergence from either one or more armies. I would see better coordination within the armies in terms of support rather than individual army runs.

Once all their regions are rogue, we can either wait for their cities to starve or mount an assault. This, in essence, is my plan.

Formal protest.

I know exactly what I am doing. It's making a statement. When all is said and done, protesting is all one can do. It has nothing to do with jealousy - what a simplistic idea. The function of the Sirion realm council is to amass wealth and power for its own self and to look out for the interest of its own self. The sad part is the apathy that Sirion has towards their blatant actions. Sirion will reap what it sows. Be happy in your miniscule sphere of influence as you go about your daily activities and hope that one day benevolence falls upon you. It will if you know which rear end to butter. I have never asked a single gold coin from the council to fund my unit. Every man that I command is fully paid for from my region. I have made it a point never to ask lest I be beholden to such people.

Fame and prestige mean nothing in practical terms but are mere notions to dangle before the ladies. As I have said, for those who are not in the General Staff, our General has not given a single point of military input. Do you know what that even means? On the discussions on military strategy, I can count of the top of my head - Marshal Giselle of whom I had actually urged to step up to the General position when it became clear that our current leadership was leading us nowhere. Then Prime Minister Zakilevo, and Royal Ryu. Marshal Giselle apparently is not keen due to possible conflict of interest with a family member in Westmoor. Royal Ryu had actually asked to be removed from the General Staff because he felt no one was taking his ideas seriously. I was the only one who spoke up and said that a diversity of views was important but in the end only one strategy could be chosen and apparently he said nothing more about wanting to be removed from the General Staff. I laid down several military steps that could be chosen. Duke Ermanno did not give a single military input. So, excuse me if I call out on the council's so-called reason of choice.

And it was not the council's doing that we no longer have a general. The council did not have the guts. It was I who started the ball rolling by finding someone to replace our then General. There was no success on the front considering that we outnumbered Westmoor. Half of Nivemus was rogue. If we do not finish of Westmoor and OI, Perdan will soon settle its southern wars and do you think that if we can't even handle Westmoor and OI we can face a resurgent Perdan? In the end, there was going to be protests - mass protests to force the General out - and this came from the Realm Council itself. So what do you think now of my protest?

"Abandoning your command shows you surely do not have the qualities to be a general and not even a marshal." Another simplistic notion. The quality of a leader is someone who speaks up when something is not right. He is not a lemming that nods and carries on. To protest and to step down is my right. Am I to serve for life for a council that rides roughshod over you? I hardly think so. I believe there will be new strategies. Like Royal Ryu, if my input is not appreciated, then it is time to focus on other parts of my life.

So who's a lemming now? I shall be focusing on my region, hunt the occasional monster in the caves or the undead in the dark forests, and at the same time, collect my tax gold, sit back, relax and watch the drama that is Sirion. No doubt there are many more capable armchair generals/marshals in the waiting. People are resources. Use them or lose them. A cup o'tea?

It's all so clear.

Because our current General, all due respect my fight is not with him, clearly gave lots of input that led to his appointment. Because the realm council clearly knew how I would react and therefore voted not for me. Because someone actually voicing out injustice rather than maintaining the status quo clearly isn't the right man for the job. Because I was clearly told that I didn't get the job because the Supreme Duke was offended by my request to have the Red Dragons bolstered by troop leaders from the Silver Legion! I can clearly guess how loud he can be in the realm council.

As for trash throwing, read carefully and you will see that I am only ever careful to throw them back after they have been thrown my way - like the lack of a proper address for instance. Yes, yes - I see it all clearly now.
