Weary from the events of the past days, Sir Vernius decided to have a drink, just like in the old times, to chase away the dreadful visions that had kept him from sleep for a couple of days.
He entered the tavern, his face hidden under a hood, and settled in with his tankard to rest his exhausted and healing body. However, his attention was drawn to a group of people gathered around a bard, encouraging him to sing again a ballad that, amid the fumes of alcohol, had garnered great success and enthusiasm among the patrons.
Sing it again, for our Heroes! The innkeeper shouted.
The bard, once flushed and happy, turned serious and somber as he began to strum his lute and sing the ballad:
