De Blanc Family/Dieter/Story/Ethiala/Night in Lasop

The festival ended yesterday and the attack in Saex had failed. With heavy heart the Duke left his estate for a walk in the City of Lasop. He spent quite some time walking and thinking, walking and thinking, when he saw a poor beggar on the corner of the road.

"Maybe I should pay a visit to my family...", Dieter thought to himself, "It's been some time since I've last seen them.", he continued.

"Get lost!" he shouted after Dieter threw a silver coin in front of the beggar, "Go and work! You are a disgrace for the City!" the Duke added.

Raising his head after passing by the miserable guy, he could see the wretched Stronghold surrounding the City.

"I still have much work to do..." he thought to himself and murmured "...I still have much work to do..." while nodding his head.

Work had tired him a lot as of lately and he needed a break, that was for sure. He was not a hero afterall, but a mere noble; he was just an ordinary man like everyone else in the Kingdom; these thoughts were flooding Dieter's mind all the time during these last days; and all these intrigues... They had exhausted him but such was the price for being an influential Duke.

An influential Duke... He had much more to do if he ever wanted to become one in that Kingdom. As expected, there was a game of influence in Ethiala and it surely was a tough one. Dieter was young and he still had a lot to learn, but his thirst for power was enough for him to become a fast learner. His dreams were not just dreams anymore, they turned to ambitions and Dieter would do anything to reach them one day; sooner or later, time was not that important. But for now, he had to pay his family mansion a visit. He stared at the stars...

"It must be late..." he thought to himself and took the way back home to his estate.
