Avamar (Realm)/History

as interpreted by One.

When the East Continent was young the Sirion Empire ruled the lands unchallenged by any threats. But their vast empire was not meant to be.

It is said the gods cursed them (Tom: "Battle Master was never meant to be won."), and with that they were no longer able to maintain control over their vast lands.

The ruler of Sirion, Doc, decided to split his lands into realms and states, which would serve under the Sirion Empire. Sirion had just created the first Nation-States? in BM history (West Sirion, Sirion, and East Sirion). Sirion was a peace aspiring power, and wanted the continent to be at peace, so that nobles could “retire” here, and gain family wealth and fame via tournaments. This lead to the creation of the Northern Alliance whose members were USS, Rancagua and Eleador.

One of the states founded at that time was West Sirion (originally in Oilgarch City). It was the last Nation-State? ever (Tom won’t allow it to ever happen again). It was the last testament to the power Sirion used to have.

It wasn’t long before the trouble came to the Northern Alliance. Stuff happened, something between Oilgarch and Sirion I think. I don’t really know and the details aren’t very important. Anyways the UUS was in for some rough times ahead.

Not only that but the great realm West Siron used to be was no. Un-boniest to Doc, West Sirion had soon become nothing more then a damnation to everyone, especially the nobles unfortunate enough to be born there.

While inter-nationally West Sirion mirrored Sirion in all political matters, they did not mirror the realm of Sirion itself. It was the worst realm in the history if Terra. I plague upon the world.

It was ruled under the iron grip of Evylears, The Damned Elf of the East. Using propaganda and terror he created a society were he was praised as a god. It is unknown but many prestigious psychologists believe he was trying to imitate Doc in hopes of becoming a god. All who apposed him soon found themselves in a great deal of pain.

Historical Fact: When I a member of West Sirion when it was still in Oligarch city, I only made three gold a tax day. Trust me when I say you can’t get much for three gold.

Nobles had to take up farming and other peasant like work just to be able to keep themselves feed. It was a dark time for the nobles of West Sirion, but it is always the darkest before dawn.

Evylears was as incompetent in war as he was as a ruler. The combined forces of Perdan and Oilgarch was able to destroy West Sirion, but not before Evylears and his followers escaped.

Doc allowed Evylears to create another colony on the Sirion boarder (Avamar City) hoping someday it may gain back its glory. Though fate had other plans in mind.

It wasn't long before the nobles of West Sirion finally had had enough of Evylears crap. They decided it was time to take action and free the people of West Sirion once and for all.

The revolution was lead by a group known as “The Brotherhood of the Black Hand”. They peacefully elected a new council, this did not seat well with Evylears or his cronies. Even after it was agreed they could stay they betrayed everyone and set fire to Avamar City. Nothing was left standing, and all the militias were killed trying to put out the fire.

Evylears contacted Doc, to get help. Sirion invade Flismar/Elmbar/Limbar taking them over. At the same time Evylears planned a rebellion to happen at the same time as Sirion invade Avamar City.

Soon a series of assasinations began creating chaos through the realm. It is true that although West Sirion (now Avamar) had 20+ devoted nobles during that time, there had been a day where it was possible to find 5 healthy nobles to form the council. Sirion assassins where attacking every hour. It did not look good for Avamar.

Avamar continued to try and get peace with Sirion but to no prevail. Soon it was clear that Doc would not allow West Sirion to exist peacefully not under his command.

Evylears called a rebellion and Doc himself entered Avamar city to try and convince West Sirion of its defeat. No one fell for the old elf’s tricks; soon he and whatever was left of the rebels ran barking home. But the conflict was not over yet.

Doc seeing that his dream was destroyed vowed to destroy Avamar in turn; in this he immediately prepared his army for an invasion. It is said that this was the last great battle of the revolution but the last battle will really only be when Avamar is accepted as a realm by all nations.

Siron massive army attack Avamar. But due to their poor preparation Avamar was able to utterly destroy Sirion with no effort at all. Even with the walls crumbling and outnumbered ten to one the brave nobles of Avamar had succeed in defending what they had fought for.

Here is an excerpt from the newspaper the day after the battle;

* * * Doc smashes his face at the strong walls of Avamar * * *

People of Avamar are jubilant once again, celebrating another great victory against the so-called “noble Elves” of Sirion. The barbaric hordes, under Doc’s personal attendance (as usual), have attacked this morning the City of Avamar in a desperate and paranoid attempt to break the city defenses.

Military analysts characterize Sirion’s tactical move, as a “suicide attack” and they are really confused concerning the motives and the strategic value of the attack. Furthermore, the usefulness of numerous Sirion Siege Engines to the attack is still questionable, as the machines didn’t even re ach the walls of Avamar. Sirion has suffered tremendous casualties, while the defenders lost the minimal.

The realm was still in turmoil. But slowly Avamar re-built, from the ashes arose a new nation that was free from prejudice and prosecution. The old statues and posters of Evylears were taken down and destroyed. The people rejoiced, and a grand feast was held for ten days.

During and after the revolution great strives were made in Avamar society.

All nobles were accepted as equals, as such the realms gold has since then always been shared equally among all nobles. No longer did nobles have to live on the street and work as peasants just to survive.

Not only did the nobles prosper, but so did the people. It was not long before new innovations appeared in the market place. Wonderful new inventions like the zipper, the salad fork, and the “Doccy Pleasure Whips”. One of which was the “letter sheet slide repeater”, later named the printing press. Using this technology Avamar was able to make leaps and bounds never seen before in history.

One such off spring was the "Doc-umentaries" C.C. playwrights. Sir Amraedil and Sir Paris created play after play each becoming more popular then the last. Getting tickets to one of their many plays has become almost impossible due to their great success. It is rumored even Doc himself can’t get tickets to see any of them.

Anyone who stood against Avamar soon found themselves wishing they never knew the name. Avamar always tried to settle things non-violently first, but if push came to shove Avamar was always ready to defend herself.

For a short time Avamar appeared to be safe. Allied with Oilgarch, they were slowly able to gain back what they had lost. They were in fact more powerful then they were before the revolution. Avamar appeared to have finally gained enough power to fight those who used to oppress them.

But the allied generals underestimated the power of the Sirion army. During the battle of Dolmbar the allied forces were horrible slaughtered. Almost half of Avamar’s nobles were either wounded or had been captured. The Sirion army pursued Avamar and retook what gains Avamar had made during the last past months.

Not only that but during the crisis Avamar was stricken by another mortal blow. Fontan had now demanded Oporto was to be given to them immediately, even though the agreement between the two realms clearly stated that it was to only be given when Avamar could survive without it. Under the pressure of the SA rulers, the ruler of Avamar agreed (it had to be done to insure the SA’s continued support), they gave Fontan Oporto in hopes to maintain peace between the two realms.

New issues arose during the following weeks; it appeared the ruler was incapable to rule. He had stopped listening to the people; he had become paranoid, seeing spies and traitors left and right.

It is unknown what par-took between the rulers in the following week; rumours of the Black Hand working in Fontan began to surface, that the judge of Avamar and Fontan were discussing rebellions, and even that the ruler had hired someone to publicly destabilize Fontan.

Eventually Fontan decided that it could not convince the SA of any of these lies. They decided to just go forward and declare that Avamar was nothing more then a group of rouges who over through the real government and took power for themselves. And with that they declared war and invaded Montijo.

It wasn’t long before Avamar was back on its feet. A combined Oilgarch and Avamar army stormed Montijo killing all Fontan nobles in their wake. The takeover was stopped and Fontan’s mighty army crushed.

Super special thanks to Doc who helped so much!
