The Great Schism.

Written by Hireshmont

Recently, in Sartania, I, Hireshmont, have caused a great stir. There is a Schism in that eatsern Theocracy. A schism rumoured to have, in fact, three sides. At sunrise, Decemberr the 3rd, one of the most heinous events in Sartanian history occurred. AT least two of its nobles began a defection away from Sartania, and announced that Sartan had Fallen from the Heavens. He had left Sartania, cast out of the Heavens by Qyrvagg, his younger brother, the New God of War and Battle. I know this because I, Hireshmont, am the Prophet of Qyrvagg. He overthrew Sartan, for Sartan was weakened by weak followers. The nobles of Sartania did not follow his ways, the Pontifex did not heed his word, an entire realm was decieved, save six nobles who stood for True Sartaniaan ideals, total war. Wars should be waged mercilessly, diplomacy should be intelligent, but aggressive. The Pontifex disagreed. More importantly, the Paladin Primus seems to disagree. Of course, he is not only the Paladin Primus, he is the true master of Sartania. He is the Duke of Niel, the capitol and only city, the Marshall of the Army of Niel, and the paladin Primus. The upper echelons of Sartanian government hold me to be a Heretic, and I am. A heretic and blasphemer against Sartania, but not against Sartan. He fell for he had not support from the clergy and people of his realm. And so Qyrvagg took his place, and he IS supported by his followers, those who claim to follow him. More information will soon be released about this Schism. For now, let it be known that any who wish to follow Qyrvagg, wait. When the time is right, further announcements will be made concernign the future of the Church of Qyrvagg, His Holy Host, and the Temple of Battles. -Hireshmont, Prophet of Qyrvagg, and Baiko, Master of the Holy Host.

In recent days sizeable Ethialan forces have been seen in and around Highland Empire territories. How large of forces, exactly? One hudnred and three archers, 522 infantrymen, and 50 cavalrymen. Army enough to greatly unbalance the situation in the north. This Ethialan force of roughly 5,000 CS has been acting in concert with Arcaean forces to defend the Highland Empire against forces from Arcachon. Recently, Arcachon forces where defeated by an Arcaea/Ethialan invasion force in the territory of Soniel. According to the Sartanian Strategical Council, Soniel is a valuable territory which some nobles on the council recomend as the next expansion of Sartania, and see as crucial to the expansion of Arcachon. It is one of two territories that Arcachon has on its borders, and the other is held by Lasanar. Soniel is a gateway to the mainland for Arcachon. Unfortunately for Arcachon, Arcaea and Ethiala are determined to keep them on their island. Most of the Far East is aware of the huge battle that just recently occured in Soniel. It occurred mere hours after a formal declaration of war by Arcachon on Arcaea and Ethiala. For reasons unknown to this reporter, only 6,000 CS of Arcaean and Ethialan forces fought. It is believed that, perhaps, many of them had withdrawn to Athios, on their way to reinforce the HE capitol at Akanos. But the facts remain unknown. The Arcacahonian forces won a great victory. they fielded 13,000 CS of troops, utterly smashing the Allied forces, capturing the Treasurer of Arcaea. But the question arises, why have Ethiala and Arcaea decided to take up the cause of the Highland Empire? For Arcaea, the reason is simple enough. The HE is a buffer between them and Lasanar, and also between them and Arcachon. Plus, Sartania is at war with the HE, and, even today, relations between Arcaea and Sartania are strained. Rumour says that many nobles in Sartania are very unhappy, to this day, with the agreement at the end of the Arcaean/Sartanian War. But why Ethiala? The reason is unknown. Perhaps they desired to keep Arcachon, one of the larger realms in the Far East, off of the mainland. The truth is mystifying to this northern man. But, with the recent conquest of Obtal by Sartanian forces, does Arcaea truly need HE as a buffer any more? The answer is unknown. Only time will tell the results of this developement. One wonders, though, what did cause the Ethialans to aid the Highland Empire?

War Torn Island.

Written by Corey

As all far east island people know war has been breaking out all over the island, Tensions continue to grow among all the free nations of the island, many disputes over land, pride, and honor have arose. But as far as this reporter is concerned its about one thing and one thing alone, Land and gold.

Lasanar is the largest realm on the island thanks to its brutal war with the now shattered Highland empire, The realm now controls 15 regions and the war still rages on, With the balance of power so greatly tipped into Lasanar favour its hard to not think that they may branch out into new lands as most realms at the present time are trying to do.

The only realm not at war is our the Common wealth, Though we may have relative peace with all nations tensions seem to be straining between the old enemy of soliferum and Svunnetland. Unfortunitly no further information will be given out at the time if these these tensions could turn into something else over the passing days.

Arcachon the old island realm also at the time seeks to gain a foothold on the main land but if any realm has it their way they will be kept in isolation for as long as possible, Their current postion would make it difficult to launch any majour assualt on the main land for the time it would take a noble to travel by boat to the main land to fight would be great, Then it would also be hard to sustain any sort of take over of any region because any assualt on them would result in some of their men to travel very far back into their own regions to refit and recruit then travel back. Because of these simple facts Arcahon should continue to remian an island realm and probaly host more tourny's if they wish to increase their income in anyway.

So all in all the far east remains to be a very war torn island and will remain such a way untill its current leaders can either be defeated or satisfy their warmongering ways and their ambitions to continue to expland their realms at any cost.

Tournament in Ortedail.

Written by Pierre

This was again a successful tournament. All though the many tensions between Soliferum and Lunarian Nobles nothing escalated. There where some death treats from both sides but other peaceful nobles made sure that they didnt use there sword until they meet on Tournament ground.

Other intresting news from the tournament, Excaliber, Pontifex of Rancagua was seen by difrent nobles including me. These where his words when i spoke with him in the local inn:

Hail Pierre Reynald,

Yes, it's me. Ex-Pontifex of Rancagua. I surrendered in exchange of safe passage for all Rancagua TLs as I have at least half of my TLs in enemies' prisons and the combined armies of three realms at Kazakh

For those intrested a report of the Tournament it's self.
