Periodically we have done a overview of the religions in Minas Ithil. With religion being a source of conflict in Atamara the York Journal continues to believe this to be an important topic. Paganism remains the most common faith as many in Minas Ithil continue to practice various household religions. Legionarism has grown quickly since its founding but seems to have leveled off, while Magna Serpaensism continues to shrink. The Way of the Warrior Saints rounds out the three largest faiths in Minas Ithil and has a number of high ranking nobles among its number. Among the minority faiths, a small number worship the Way of the Hammer. The Word has recently gained a following among the peasantry. Its introduction can be traced to priests from realms at war with Minas Ithil.

By Roxas Sypher Dark days February 10

Thousands of troops flying banners from Tara, Cagilan Empire, Caergoth, Talerium and Coria have left the Minas Ithil countryside in ruins. The armies of Minas Ithil have managed a few victories against smaller groups of enemy forces but are unable to act against the main army which still occupies Crahandan.

By Roxas Sypher Battles against Carelia and Tara January 27th

While the forces that attacked Shanandoah return home Carelia has moved north. Gathering in Lothruin, they then marched on Menedor. Carelia was pushed back in the first attack and then Eston withdrew to the fortifications in Amdor. Meanwhile, The Minas Ithil army had gathered in Lyton where it came under attack by Tara. Heavy fighting occured with Minas Ithil winning but taking many losses. Marshal Malcor, a former field marshal and loved by all of Minas Ithil fell in the battle. His valor and heroism will be remembered.

Carelia, seeing the large Darka army gathering in Amdor, retreated south and the Darka and Minas Ithil armies moved south into Lothruin and Chuca. Field Marshal Relkin led a takeover effort in Lothruin to free our wayward countrymen from Taran oppression.

By Roxas Sypher Attack on Shanandoah January 11th

Cagilan Empire, Tara, Caergoth, Coria and Talerium joined together to attack Shanandoah today. The high walls of the city however, combined with the many brave and valorous defenders repelled the attack. The Coalition forces took heavy casualties but damaged the walls greatly.

By Roxas Sypher The end of Norland and Falasan January 10th

Brackhead has fallen to the Barony of Makar. Menedor, the last region of Falasan, has joined Eston.

By Roxas Sypher Summary of recent events January 8th

Over the last few months, two events have stood out more prominently than others. The destruction of Falasan and Norland.

Norland ended their treaty with Minas Ithil and took over Mansbridge. In response, armies from Darka, Eston, Barony of Makar and Minas Ithil attacked Norland. Minas Ithil has retaken Mansbridge and Eston and Barony of Makar have been taking other regions for themselves. Norland is currently left with only their capital, but the city has been ransacked and little is left.

After Lothruin rebelled and joined Falasan, Falasan declared they would keep the region but that only resulted in the Coalition realms declaring war on them. Since then Falasan has lost all but Menedor. Coria and Tara now control nearly all of Falasan's former holdings.

The twin acts of the Northern realms destroying Norland and the Coalition destroying Falasan now nearly complete, the Coalition has sent thousands of troops into Minas Ithil.

The York Journal has been out of operation since September due to the war. In a change of formats, we are switching to a quarterly basis so there will only be four issues a year that will be added to throughout the quarter. If we are able to find additional writers (and our offices are not torched in the war) we might be able to return to a monthly format.
