May 16th - Melmoor rebels from Norland. May 13th - Eston mourns the death of Andrew McKay, King of Eston. May 12th - Field Marshal Malcor has stepped down citing personal issues. He is replaced by Marshal Voragh Orim. May 8th - Ash Sea Islands successfully defends the city of Wor'ight from Caergoth, Carelia, and Suville. Meanwhile, Caergoth has taken Worav. May 7th - Barony of Makar has taken over the rogue region of Melmoor. Moramroth has rebelled from Minas Ithil. King of Eston has died

The York Journal offers its condolences to the people of Eston. We recognize that a man of great stature has left the world. Before becoming King of Eston, Andrew McKay was Count of Slantrax, General of Eston, and Duke of Hawthorne. Andrew McKay leaves behind a Queen and two children as well as an entire nation in mourning. He has been entombed in the Venerest Temple within Barad Lacirith.

Battles in Elost

May 5th '08

Eston and Norland combined their forces to attack the fort at Elost. Nearly a thousand soldiers attacked the eight hundred defenders. The attackers took heavy casualties, with 680 killed or wounded and the Norland Hero Drojan Brakus killed. The attackers were unable to take the fort but inflicted heavy losses on the defenders. Minas Ithil casualties were 605 killed or wounded. Reinforcements from both sides continued toward the mountainous fort as each side rallied their forces. Sunset found Minas Ithil still outnumbered with around 800 hostile troops against about 600 Minas Ithil defenders. Justiciar Katherine Yorke was captured during the battle but the walls were held and the attackers driven back. The attackers suffered casualties of 623 while Minas Ithil had casualties of 413.
