New Class Templar Knight

Templar Knights, or the holy warriors would be cool to have as a new class because...they would have the ability to Holy Recruit(or something like that) , which would allow them to recruit soldiers from there temple. This would be an advantage because by recruiting followers of your religion as you travel and fight with these followers you are able to convert more followers from all realms and regions. The amount of followers you could convert would depend on the size of your army(of followers) and the size of your temple. The cause of this converting of peasants from other realms would lower production/loyalty/morale of other realms, this would also depend on the size of your unite, and would only bring it down slightly but with enough Templar Knights it could do a bit of damage. Also because they are warriors of god they would be enlightened and be quite a bit stronger then the average solider. Some disadvantages of templar knights( which would kinda be a trade off)are, they would only be able to recruit infantry and cavalry. They would only be able to recruit followers from the temple, and because Holy warriors are very skilled the cost to pay and buy your men would double ( also maybe not being able to do civil/police work not sure). Other things about Templar Knights, that might work are having this ability to convert as a skill and you can convert more as your skill gets better. Really it just and idea im throwing out there and if you have any suggestions please feel free to add your ideas… also if you think its a dumb idea let me know P.S. if there is any one who has any ideas for the name, it was the only thing I could think of.

Suggestions

(If you have any suggestions please feel free to leave them here)

Well, I don't think recruiting from a temple would be okay. Tom has repeatedly said no recruiting outside the capital. HOWEVER! Perhaps calling volunteers from a region of your religion could work. They of course be more poorly armed than most but still, when needed extra troops are useful. --Kag 6 April 2006 00:10 (CEST)

I like the idea about them getting recruits. Its like a bit like a Holy Hero in a sense. It does fit in historically as The pagentry would follow the knights into battle. They would be very poorly trained, but over time they could be a very good force. The Coversion could be like the Hero "Tell your Tales" Option, only appearing at different times, maybe the more holy and famous a person the more times it will appear? Also because they are warriors of god they would be enlightened and be quite a bit stronger then the average solider. Why would they be enlightened and strogner than the average soldier? The medieval crusader knights were no stronger than other knights. Of course, you could get cheaper training from believing academies and that way become stronger than the average soldier.

And a name idea: Crusader. -Renal
