Although lost for centuries, the White Aegis was rediscovered by a young knigh, [[Habsburg Family/Rudolf Habsburg | Sir Rudolf Habsburg]], during an attack on [[Lothruin]] by [[Caergoth]] and its allies. Rudolf, second-in-command of the Army of Strength and the Axe, was leading the army into battle in the absence of the marshal and general, and after a sound victory over [[Minas Ithil]] he went with his men to explore the battlefield. It is said that while wondering along the outskirts of the battlefield, the earth in front of Rudolf opened to reveal the White Aegis and he then knelt in a prayer of dedication. Some disreputable sources state the in fact Rudolf tripped and then after falling on his face uttered words that under no sercomstances could be considered a prayer, but these reports have been largely squashed.
