Oh, come on now.  Do we really need yet '''another''' realm named '''directly''' after a place from a book or video game?  I mean, I like Final Fantasy XII too (and Tactics, and Tactics Advance, for that matter), but seriously, have a little creativity, folks.  If you would like some help coming up with a more original realm name, I would be more than happy to help. -- [[User:Danaris|Anaris]] 22:51, 29 September 2008 (CEST)

:I know that there are those with different opinions, but I have always felt that naming a realm directly after a place in a well-known book or video game smacks of unoriginality, and generally dilutes the feel of the game.  However, it's hard to just suggest good names for a realm: any good realm name has to be well-connected to the realm itself.  Can you tell me a little about what the feel, the spirit of the realm is supposed to be like? --[[User:Danaris|Anaris]] 14:11, 30 September 2008 (CEST)

::If it's Roman in feel, then a Latin or Latin-based name would probably work best.  For instance (though please pardon my rusty Latin), "bore-" indicates having to do with the north, "mar" is "sea", and "terra" means "land", so (utterly ignoring actual Latin grammar in favour of what sounds nice) "Marterra Borealis" would be (roughly) "Northland By the Sea".  Basically, just figure out what the important characteristics of your realm are, and then figure out how to say each of them in Latin, then make some kind of cool-sounding combination of them for the name of your realm :-)

To reiterate and copy my comment from Talk:Ivalice, that it might be read:

Oh, come on now. Do we really need yet another realm named directly after a place from a book or video game? I mean, I like Final Fantasy XII too (and Tactics, and Tactics Advance, for that matter), but seriously, have a little creativity, folks. If you would like some help coming up with a more original realm name, I would be more than happy to help. -- Anaris 22:51, 29 September 2008 (CEST)

I know that there are those with different opinions, but I have always felt that naming a realm directly after a place in a well-known book or video game smacks of unoriginality, and generally dilutes the feel of the game. However, it's hard to just suggest good names for a realm: any good realm name has to be well-connected to the realm itself. Can you tell me a little about what the feel, the spirit of the realm is supposed to be like? --Anaris 14:11, 30 September 2008 (CEST)
If it's Roman in feel, then a Latin or Latin-based name would probably work best.
