Savouring his warmth and the comforting sound of his gentle breathing, Danzi lay thoughtfully in the crook of his shoulder. Her hand resting gently on his chest. Reluctantly she sat up, tiptoed across the room in the dim, early morning light and pulled her dress on. Using some string she smoothed and tied back her tussled hair. "I must've needed some closeness" she thought uneasily to herself. Returning to the edge of the bed she watched him sleeping. She wanted to stay, but she knew it wasn't right. An infiltrator could not afford to form attachments. Moving to the window she slipped over the sill and disappeared over the rooftops. - Duke's Ball |
