Turbul can be jarring to the average traveler as he passes through to Flowrestown. For one, the land is marked by contrast. It can change suddenly from barren rocky landscape to the apparently fertile land the farmers are ever working on. The people of Turbul claim their ancestors brought rich earth and seeds to this land and set the stage for the Turbul of present. No historians have been able to confirm the authenticity of that belief.

Furthermore, the people themselves can present a strange scene. Travelers encounter peaceful pastoral scenes with fathers, mothers, and children all aiding in the harvest. However, a closer look reveals that even the children carry long daggers. The reason is that Turbul, bordered by Fatexna and Tranquil, encounter enough monster attacks that they have had to adapt by being ever vigilant. Children are trained from an early age how to use weapons and are instilled with a strong sense of self-reliance and discipline. No one is helpless in Turbul.

However, that comes with a dark side. Every once in a while, someone breaks down from the constant toil and danger, proceeding to vent their frustrations on their fellow villagers with the edge of a blade.

As such, the people of Turbul always make sure that young and wilder ones partake in the peaceful and relaxing flower festivals in Flowrestown. Turbul is indeed...turbulent.
