Tinsley Family/RP/Chase in Lothruin
Chase in Lothruin (where Willem and Ilya ride to the top of a hill)
After waiting for the monsters to show themselves in Picnu and that event not happening, Ilya and Willem received orders to travel to Barad Gardor. Ilya, who hadn't traveled much through that part of the realm, and had never been in either Chuca or Anfalas, suggested a route to Willem. He had other ideas.
Willem asked, and received permission from the King of Minas Ithil to travel through Lothruin. It had been many years since Willem had been to that fair land, and event then it was just across the Menedor - Lothruin border while hunting deer with his brother. He'd heard that the sea coast was even more beautiful than that of Chuca.
They struck camp and sent their men ahead, under the eyes of their respective Captains.
- Want to race? You've got Rigel and I've got Fea. I'll give you a head start.
- No. I thought we could just go along slowly and talk.
- Come on. To the top of that hill. - And with that, Ilya put her heels gently into her mare's haunches, leaned forward and whispered something in her ear. The horse took off with a bolt.
Willem watched them gallop away, and remembered that he, too, was on a fine horse. Snapping the reins, he urged Rigel on. Willem was still getting used to horses and wasn't expecting such a jump from his mount. A few yards later, he regained his balance, but it was far too late. Ilya was almost to the top of the hill. A few minutes later, he joined her on the crest.
- I thought that with all the riding you did in Eston, that you'd be better than that. - Ilya smiled broadly, which made her even more beautiful.
They turned their horses to the east, and were able to view the shoreline in the distance.
- Can we go and see it now? I'd so much like to see the sea. - She smiled again at the play on words that she just made. Another reason that Willem was fond of her.
- No, we've got to travel on. I think that we can stop near the Chuca - Lothruin border. I've heard that there's a small bay that is quite nice. My mum spoke of it when Freidroch and I were younger. - He turned Rigel to point down the other side of the hill and nudged her to go. - See you at the bottom.
Now she could chase him for a while.
