[[Thunderborn Family/Thunderborn History]

In every continent and in every major clash there has been a Thunderborn mercenary unit. Insular, sometimes even defiant towards the other ranks, they keep quietly to themselves. But in battle, oh how they roar. Like some force of nature they rain down blood and pain to the enemy.

And afterwards? Within the bounds of their camp there is music and laughter heard. But no others are invited to these revelries.

After particularly good wars an influx of children are seen being reared from their moving camp. The old men and women who can not fight any more tend to the young while men and women who are still capable head towards battle. From the moment a youth proves they can stand the strain of death and pain they are in every fight the unit commits to winning.

It is one large roaming family, with each unit committing to following the leadership of one person and that selected is responsible to answering the head of the family, the Kildar.

Not much is known about the family, beyond being feared mercs who are distant towards anyone not family. There are those who preferred other forms of combat, merchants and farmers, who left their units to pursue that kind of life. And if their children wished to run from the towns and civility of the others, they were welcomed back with open arms. And thus the cycle begins again, as there is always another battle to be fought somewhere.
