:Well, since the grammar and writing style is so uneven, I am freely editing. I'm fixing poor word choice when I find it and generally trying to synthesize and improve the submitted text. I think as long as we keep within their intended meaning, editing to improve the clarity and flow is an improvement. My recollection is that almost all fiction is written in past tense, as in how you would tell a story. It's fine if they write it in present tense, as it '''happens''', but right now, it's a mix of past and present tenses, which is harder to understand. Tense
